Sea views at every turn await you at this spectacularly located luxe retreat
As you drive across the narrow isthmus towards Xanadu, you’ll feel as if you are retreating to an exclusive island where you’ll find everything you need for that sun-kissed holiday you’ve been longing for: plentiful restaurants and bars, a plethora of pools and wellness venues, a kids’ club, bowling alley, copious watersports to name just a few. It’s hard not to love a hotel that has such a spectacular peninsula setting; sea views are pretty much a constant and there’s going to be beaches in the plural; this luxe Bodrum retreat has a main private beach plus a couple of small coves.
Why we love Xanadu Island Bodrum
-
There’s a private beach (complete with lifeguard service for peace of mind paddling) and a couple of secluded coves to retreat to
-
It’s wonderfully family friendly thanks to its spacious suites, extensive list of activities to enjoy together and of course the de rugueur kids’ club
-
The main restaurant is a culinary wonderland (with a fun-size buffet for children) whilst the à la carte restaurants will take you on a side quest to Italy and Mexico
-
The peninsula setting means that everyone gets a sea view from their spacious suite’s breezy balcony or terrace
Rooms
Space and sea views are the order of the day in the 222 suites. The décor is simple with blue being the accent colour of choice. Each suite has at least a living area with the higher categories featuring separate the master bedroom and living area. For couples, there’s the cool Romance Suite and for families and groups, you’ve got a few two- and three-bedroom suite types to choose from.
Facilities
A trio of restaurants include the main eatery where it’s all about the extensive buffet; you can opt to embrace your destination and try some Turkish cuisine or go for more familiar international dishes. Treat nights are best celebrated at one of the fine dining venues: Azzurro and El Toro. Further dining opportunities are available during the day at some of the bars like Archipelago and Xanadu.

For time together, there are plenty of activities to embrace such as on-land and on-water sports, bowling and table tennis.
The larger suites are set up perfectly for families – particularly the two-bedroom Elegance and Lavendar Suites and the Three-Bedroom Royal Suite. They each have a separate living area but multiple rooms (one at least that has twin beds) which means once the kids are in bed, you don’t have to keep totally quiet for the rest of the evening. Cots and a baby kit are provided for any infants and a baby-sitting service* is also available if you want to try out one of the à la carte restaurants and catch some of the later-in-the-day entertainment.
In the Main Restaurant, children are specifically catered for with their own buffet selection; there are highchairs for the smallest guests.
