This five-star, luxury hotel is in an area that Western tourists don’t often visit, opposite Yen Tu Mountain and its sacred Buddhist temple. Located in Quang Ninh District, the mountain is a site of pilgrimage for Buddhists, with a pagoda, monastery and a cable car service. The monastery was founded by King Tran Nhan Tong, and is an iconic site for Vietnamese Zen Buddhists.
Yen Tu Legacy Hotel is very spacious, with 133 rooms and an interesting architectural style similar to a 13th century temple. That means it has a tiered roof with dragon curls, lots of wood and stone corridors and tiles from northern Vietnam, as well as tapestries and prayer bowls. The complex is very big, so it’s suitable for large tourist groups.
Guests who are interested in wellness will love this hotel. Although its spa hasn’t opened yet, it does have yoga and meditation classes, as well as beautiful views of the mountains. You can take the cable car to visit the temple, do some trekking and enjoy the hotel’s restaurant and bar. It’s perfect for a peaceful, spiritual getaway.
