Best place in Diani
I spent 4 days here. The best part is having to access the three hotels in one at anytime. The rooms are good and very spacious. The swimming pools.........specatcular!!!!! . The general service of the whole place was good. I will definitely be back
I have been there for 12 days and I have to say it was one of the best holidays in my life. Animators have contributed the most to this. In particular three of them Judy, Baraka and Ivon. They are the nicest people I have ever met. Also the food was delicious and my room was clean and specious. I very like this place and I will back there for sure.
Well worth a visit.
We stayed for 2 weeks in June to relax and we did! We were booked into a huge superior room in Kole Kole, with a garden and partial sea view, large balcony and plenty of privacy. Couldn't have asked for more, so thank you Patrick, Reservations Manager. I won't repeat the comments of other reviewers, other than to say the restaurant food was very good and varied, some cracking curries on offer, the service from staff was excellent, in restaurants, bars, cleaning, and Reception. Every staff member seemed to have a smile on their face and they always managed a hello, how are you? A special thank you to Ali K and William in the restaurant, and especially Robinson who was always there when needed, and looked after us and our family extremely well, helping to make our holiday so special. Elizabeth the queen of the stir fry was always jolly in her work and Kevin very good with the breakfasts. The security guards Edwin and Muye were very courteous, had time for a chat, and provided a good insight into Kenyan family life. The draft beer was acceptable as was the red wine, and the G & T and whisky different but drinkable. During our first week, there were a lot of African and Asian families staying, but the children were well behaved and mainly stayed in the children's pools, while we enjoyed the peace at the top Maridadi pool, but you knew you were in a different land, which was fine. A suggestion from us is to make the top Maridadi pool adult only and smoke free, as it's stated to be the quiet zone, so this would make it even better. Don't worry about the beach boys, they do take a firm "no" for an answer, and they are far less of a nuisance than on our previous visits to Kenya, they're only trying to make a living, and it's all part of the experience. Lastly, the animation team provided good evening entertainment at the amphitheatre, some very professional shows, and unlike animation teams of the past, they were extremely proficient dancers, gymnasts and acrobats. Well done.
June holiday at Diani -south coast at Baobab beach resort and spa it was very good and we intend to come back again. Thank you all for the service extended to us and for your hospitality. our kids really enjoyed too.
Amazing but could be better
We upgraded to a deluxe room which was lovely, very spacious. The bathroom was amazing and very spacious, however the bed was slightly too hard for my liking. None of the rooms however looked to have a great beach view so wouldn’t pay extra for the advertised beach view. Our room had a slight view of the pool but our balcony was not very private. Room service was not available nor was the mini fridge stocked which was a shame as we would have enjoyed a night cap on a balcony before bed. House keeping were excellent and very friendly. Note you have to request a mosquito net from reception. We lost electricity and water twice on our stay and it took about an hour for the electrician to arrive. The buffet food was very good - there was great choice every night and great quality. It was also good to have a selection of 3 buffets across the resort for a change of scenery, all buffets served the same kind of food. Drink measurements were very generous however the beer glasses were quite small and from tap. The staff were very attentive however the whole resort was a little understaffed - nobody was able to walk around the pool to clear or take orders etc. At the other extreme, when staff were around they took your plates too quickly. As soon as you were finished they took your plate, even if the rest of your table had not finished. The A La Carte restaurants unfortunately were average at best. We paid to go 3 times but wish we hadn’t. Our first meal was at the Tangezi which we did very much enjoy but mostly for the service and a change from the buffet. The meals did not come as advertised on the menu - I ordered red snapper pasta but it came with vegetables and chips. We came back for a second night and had the seafood platter which was lovely but definitely not fresh, the food was quite rubbery. Our final A La Carte was at Marhaba which was very disappointing. Again the food was not as advertised, seafood was rubbery, they didn’t have the wine we wanted and service was slow. We couldn’t be bothered to complain as the service was so slow to start with! We paid roughly £20-30 per head for a starter and main, drinking the all inclusive drinks. We would recommend going A La Carte once or twice during your stay but due to a change from buffet rather than food quality. We took a trip to the spa which I couldn’t recommend highly enough. It was wonderful and great value for money. We paid £46 each for an hour full body massage and hour facial. Overall the resort is beautiful and we very much enjoyed our stay. At the time the things felt so little we didn’t feel suitable to complain but as the week went on more on more things cropped up. It’s a shame there was a few little issues that could have easily been avoided but we’d still highly recommend this resort due to the staff and location/set-up.
