Excellent Location !
Very nice room with pool and sea views! Excellent breakfast, Free cocktail between 17:00 and 18:00. Enjoyed the loungers in the infinity pools, Great location in Camps Bay, close to everything, spoiled for choices for restaurants for dinner, within walking distance from the hotel.
Visited Capetown for the first time. Had a great stay at the Bay hotel. Staff are friendly and helpful. Area is always clean and neat. Breakfast was lovely. Camps bay beach is just across the road from the hotel, so it’s the perfect choice for a solo trip. ♥️
Most probably one of the best positioned hotels in Camps Bay but unfortunately now seen better days. Hotel is shabby and service is slow. First room had damp and bubbling patches on ceiling, aircon was noisy and with the 'smell of breakfast' wafting in through the patio doors and with the loud music from a nearby bar, it was either close doors and endure the noisy aircon or be subjected to the smells of breakfast and clatter of dishes from the breakfast or the super loud music from the bar. Fortunately, we were able to move rooms and this issue was resolved...thank you to the helpful front desk manager. The general lack of upkeep and maintenance of this once 'cool' hotel is seen on the chipped edges of the stairs and faded and water damaged woodwork in the rooms. The bathrooms are very small with bath and shower....very little space to store toiletries. Bar and lounge areas have been closed due to Covid restrictions, which is quite unfortunate. Breakfast is extremely slow but not bad when you eventually receive your order. Pool area has plenty of loungers but unfortunately always shortage of towels, which was incredibly frustrating. Such a disappointment to see how 'average' this hotel has become.....where has the love gone ?
Unhappy with service
We stayed at the bay hotel for nine nights at the end of November, a lot of the staff were helpful in many ways as long as you were happy customer. If you had any problems with anything in the hotel they then didn’t want to know about any issues you had. We had two rooms for the nine nights and seven of the nine nights we struggle to sleep as there was so much wind which we understand it was a windy time of year however there was definitely a problem with the window, we did complain and were told on several occasions that Maintenance would come and look at the window however this didn’t happen. We then sent quite a lot of other items to be washed using the laundry service within the hotel a few of the items four items to be precise came back shrunk but not shrunk a little bit they were shrunk around four sizes I have emailed the hotel on several occasions in regards to this and they have just ignored me about my complaint again. The hotel and a whole is ideal for certain people and we will be travelling to Cape Town a lot over the next few years with business and we had hoped that we had found a small hotel to staying with a laundry service however because of these issues and the fact staff were not interested in correcting them we will not be staying in this hotel again! I have plenty of videos of the wind ( this was a very loud wind with a squealing sound all night, also with the windows rattling like someone was trying to break in!!) and pictures of the shrunk items of clothing if anyone would like to see them
Our Bay experience was perfect. We stayed in a cabana room with sea view. The weather was perfect and we stayed on the deck lounging in the sun. Perfect location exceptional service. Breakfast scrumptious The Bay is the place to stay
