Rainy weekend made great by a great hotel
We went to New Orleans for a long weekend and unfortunately it was cool and raining. The hotel upgraded us to a balcony room with a covered balcony. We could sit and enjoy a glass of champagne and coffee and watch the gentle rain . The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful. The rib room restaurant and bar are in the hotel. They have a beautiful rooftop pool that overlooks the city but unfortunately it was raining. The hotel is really near great restaurants and shops so short walk in rain was no problem. They have valet parking so that’s very helpful. We will go back for a sunny weekend to enjoy the pool . The hotel is very virus aware so face mask and extensive cleaning was in effect .
Favorite New Orleans Hotel!
I have stayed at the Omni Royal Orleans many times over the last 10 years, and it's always great! The rooftop deck is amazing, lobby is beautiful and historic with a lot of room to relax, and the location in the French Quarter is perfect. Rooms are on the small side, but who comes to New Orleans to sit in the room? Staff are always very friendly and willing to help with suggestions. This is always my first choice of hotels in New Orleans
We came here after our wedding and the stay was wonderful! Staff was very helpful and friendly especially Amber at the front desk who gave us an upgrade and surprised us with a bottle of champagne in the room. We had a beautiful view from our balcony that my new husband and I enjoyed very much!
Memorial Day Staycation.
My bf was approached by the front desk manager and given a staycation rate of $59 a night. We could use the pool but not room service , restaurant , or bar. So why not take it ? We miss having a pool. Check in and get to the room. My closet is bigger than the room. We go down and speak to same manager. In order to get a larger room we have to pay $200 for a suite. A hotel that has 5 other guests btw. We live her. We could encourage business to the Omni through our Friends, Families, and the 3 businesses we have. We decline. There is no fridge. Just a locked Mini bar fridge and we request a fridge. They were accommodating. PS , this day and age every room should have a fridge and microwave. For a usual rate of $179 there should be no 100sq ft rooms. We made the mistake of sleeping there in the lumpy bed and worse pillows in history. We live a block away. We should have gone home but was so anxious to be at a pool. It’s a week later. I’m still feeling the ill effects of sleeping in that bed. I have never had this. For two days I had to get in our jacuzzi tub when I woke up to function. I’m sure this sounds like drama or a funny story. I assure you that it is not. $59 to use the pool. Fine. We should have gone home after. The hotel sucks. Let me tell you. That woman who is “manager” is awful. The hotel is awful. The Ribroom on the other hand has the best steak I’ve ever had. It opened Friday , I think , try it , try the pool. Stay away from the rooms.
Cancelled trip, great customer service
Like many travelers, we had to cancel our trip. Omni Royal Orleans has provided great customer service. We plan to rebook our trip and will choose Omni Royal Orleans. We were provided documentation to verify that our funds were refunded to our credit card. The person I spoke with had suggestions for when we are able to rebook this anniversary trip.
