Haveli Dharampura

Step back into the 18th century Mughal era at Haveli Dharampura, a 200-year-old heritage property. The family haveli has been painstakingly restored from near ruin over six years by a father and son team, who’ve retained the property’s original architectural beauty while adding modern amenities. In terms of décor, expect ornate wooden doorways and antique balconies, Lakhori brick walls and lofty ceilings. A gallery of black-and-white photos tells the story of this extraordinary building, which has been awarded UNESCO’s Asia-Pacific Award for Cultural Heritage Conservation.

Built from red sandstone typical of the Mughal era, the haveli has two floors that face inward over a marble quad, with a spectacular rooftop area that looks across Old Delhi to the Jamad Masjid and Red Fort. Sip a cocktail accompanied by Delhi street food delicacies and Mughlai cuisine at Lakhori restaurant. Throughout the week, the property hosts entertainment such as Kathak Dance and classical music, high tea and pigeon flying.
