The Shipyard Angra
A sleek steamship-style botlhole
Close to the historic harbour, this boutique apartotel is a great base for everyone from solo explorers to families.
The Shipyard sits in Angra do Heroísmo’s old industrial district and blends modernist design with clean-cut woods, concrete and industrial lighting. Studios and apartments come with smart little kitchens and the urban-style restaurant has a sustainable ethos, serving up Azorean produce, fresh fish and seasonal ingredients.

Rooms
The 29 light-filled studios and apartments, all of which have a modern kitchenette, continue the sophisticated maritime theme of the public areas, with wooden features and a palette of blue, grey and white. The Studios are the smallest, with a living area separated from the bed by a vertical timber screen and a terrace. There’s more indoor space in the One Bedroom Apartments and the One Bedroom Superior Apartments, as well as a balcony from which to gaze out over the cityscape. For families, meanwhile, the Two Bedroom Apartments provide room, privacy and comfort, as well as a balcony.
