Staff were absolutely wonderful!!!
We arrived at Blue Waters as a 7. Myself, husband and 5 month old baby, mum and dad, sister and bf. From the moment we arrived it was pure paradise, the rooms were spacious and clean, the bathroom was huge with a stunning roll top bath. Pools and beach so clean and sun beds comfortable. The food in all Restaurants was amazing especially the cove a must try if you visit, not to mention the yummy cocktails round the pool and delicious wine in the evenings. We were lucky enough to be guests over New Year’s Eve and wow! What a night the food and entertainment was just brilliant all topped off with fireworks to bring in the new year. Unfortunately for us the new year brought our own challenges, my little boy fell ill with bronchitis and was admitted to hospital in the capital St Johns for 4 days and 3 nights. This meant that my husband and I and mum and dad had to miss our flight home. I can honestly say I have never felt more at home so far away every day my husband and I would return from the hospital at lunch time for a few hours to eat and shower, we were met with staff who were so concerned and supportive, nothing was too much trouble. Every single member of staff from the gardener, housekeepers, waitresses, receptionist and management (Kevin and Nicole) were truly wonderful. The staff made our terrible situation so much more bearable and when we were discharged and came back to the hotel with my baby boy they were all thrilled and could not have cared more. We hope to return one day and experience Blue Waters for all its glory. If you are looking for somewhere set in pure paradise, wonderful food, beautiful views and the most amazing staff I have ever had he pleasure of meeting then this is the place for you. Thank you so so much from the Fardell’s, Ditton’s and baby Henry xxx
Some Great Things and Room For Improvement
Somethings at the hotel were great- the service was impeccable and the grounds immaculate. The food was great at Bartley's (duck) and the breakfast spread was nice. There are some opportunities for improvement: -The bed and pillows were hard as rocks -The towels were paper thin and rough -Water pressure in the shower was non-existent -The "Do not disturb" sign kept blowing off the door -Part of the resort, the part that would have the best view of a sunset, was inaccessible because someone had rented out a house that gave them exclusive access to it -We didn't pay for all inclusive, but I would have been upset if we had as it seemed that everything had a charge in addition such as bottled water In the end, the most important thing for a hotel is the quality of sleep and it wasn't there.
Engagement in paradise
fourth visit. decided best place to propose as is a romantic haven as well as being a truly first class hotel, expertly managed with a team of exceptionally likeable and hard working staff whom go above and beyond at making your holiday the best experience, ran by a family for many years and this shows in the hands on approach. we treat ourselves to the best when we can...so be assured your hard earned money is very well spent here, we plan to get married here in 2021.thank you to you all,
Mainly great - could & should be even better!
Blue Waters has everything going for it in terms of location and facilities - the marketing and pictures don't exaggerate and the hotel complex has a relaxed and comfortable elegance about it. Several sheltered beach areas or choice of pools and plenty of semi-private places to sit or sun yourself. Also good non-motorised water sports - special mention for Rocky who encouraged my wife to come out on the Hobie cats and even helm once! We had an enjoyable time and Blue Waters would have got one of my hard earned 5* reviews had it not been for variable (and occasionally dis-interested) service around the resort. I get the 'laid back' Caribbean vibe but, while most staff were great, a few seemed to think it OK to ignore waiting guests while they pratted about in their own sweet time - really not cool in a resort which does so much so well. Overall a solid 4 stars (with some reservations) and yes we would probably return.
7th Visit - Not as good as it used to be, but have booked again
We have been here 7 times so obviously we like it. However, we have noticed a few issues that make it not as good as it used to be. The major one is that the Cove restaurant menu that has been reduced significantly, the choices as were indicated on the web site in Nov have changed. So where as we would try to eat at the Cove 4 times in a week, this time we ate there only twice. The Caribbean service style is always a bit laid back, but maybe now it is a bit too laid back! However, the cost for BW is much cheaper than other comparable resorts so we have booked again - warts and all!
