A truly memorable holiday
We were in Mauritus to celebrate our 30th anniversary. We were in contact with the hotel prior to arriving and received answers to every enquiry immediately. On our very early arrival we were given a temporary room to freshen up as ours wasn't ready. We were given a tour of the resort which helps familiarise yourself early on. Our room was soon ready and we had beautiful views over the Indian Ocean and the pool area. Room was perfectly comfortable and perfect for the amount of time spent in there First couple of days were spent relaxing by the pool, eating, drinking and chilling. All the time the staff were attentive, friendly and good fun. Special mention to Melanie for her attention to making our holiday as perfect as possible but we could truly name check everyone for their hospitality We met some great people who made the holiday fun and turned the evenings into mini parties! When on an all inclusive package, we try not to overdo it but the food was good and the drinks better than most AI hotels we've been to. The waiters don't hold back topping up drinks during lunch and dinner! We hired a car for a couple of days which I'd highly recommend to see the island and learn a bit about the people and the culture. The beaches along the east coast are well worth a visit. If you don't want to drive, there are organised trips or even hire a taxi for the day. To sum up, the staff at the Paul et Virginie were helpful, friendly, fun and a joy to engage with. Food and drink plentiful and good quality. The hotel is quiet but with just enough going on to never be bored. The pools and beach are fine and we never struggled to get a sun bed. We would highly recommend a stay here
Wonderful Holiday. Friendly and efficient staff.
Having read other reviews of the hotel we were concerned about having to enter sunbed wars. We need not have worried. There were ample sunbeds around the three main areas; infinity pool, beach and shallower pool and we could have a leasurely breakfast before heading with our towels to sunbeds. The staff were wonderful and always friendly. Nothing we asked was too much trouble. The food was of excellent quality and we were never left feeling that the choice was limited. We highly recommend having lunch at the beach restaurant. The views of the bay is super and incredibly tropical. That said, the views from the infinity pool and bar were also very nice and we never tired of looking out to sea. Although the hotel is located in close proximity to a road we were not troubled by noise. The hotel is also very close to the sea and our room had a super sea view. Our lasting impression is that the hotel provides a fusion of Caribbean food quality and relaxation with Asian levels of service. The biggest credit we can give is that we had one of our best ever holidays and consequently fully intend staying at the hotel again.
Couldn't ask for better staff
A truly excellent place to spend our honeymoon. Man and his team made us feel so welcome, really taking care of all of our needs (wife 6 months pregnant and gluten intolerant). The place is absolutely stunning, and quite small compared to the other resorts, making it feel that bit more intimate. Reenoo in the kitchen cooked us up a storm, and when you do need a bit of an excursion/entertainment then Jerry and his team couldn't be beat. Rooms and facilities are great too - you really are in paradise
Visited for a week. One of the most beautiful countries in the world and you're made to feel welcome wherever you go. The staff at the hotel go above and beyond to make sure you have an amazing experience and I'd recommend it to anybody.
Great hotel and overall stay
Stayed here in October 2019 for 9 nights on half board. Personally we spend out most of the day so all inclusive is not worth it for us. Breakfast was delicious with a huge selection of hot and cold food. Dinner was also great with the menu changing every night and swaping from buffet to a la carte. The service in the restaurant was really good generally and the waiters were attentive. The room was fabulous, with lovely decoration, good size bathroom and terrace overlooking the pool area and the sea. The resort offered a mid afternnoon snack every day of pancakes and fried rice or noodles in the mid morning. You can arrange a los of activities with them too and prices are very reasonable. The bed was ridiculously comfortable and had the best sleep ever! A few things to improve: -The bar menu could do with adding a few more options for lunch time as it doesn't have a really wide selection specially if you are staying for over a week, it can be a bit repetitive. - When booking half board,it only includes dinner in the main restaurant, which is the same restaurant for breakfast. If you want to eat at the restaurant by the beach you have to pay extra, which wasn't specified when I booked. -Breakfast area is lovely and open which is great, however we used to get birds all over our food the moment you turn around or on the bread and pastries which weren't completely covered at all times. - I had my nails done on the last day at their spa, and even though there were REALLY expensive compared to what would pay in the UK, they didn't last at all, not even a week so I wouldn't recommend that service. - The alcohol in the bar is not the best quality and the prices are quite high.If you are looking at drinking all day every day.definetely book all inclusive. -The beach area is nice but is not really big, and there are a few abandoned dogs around pretty much daily. Overall we had an amazing time and wouldd definetely stay again, but is worth mentioning the above. Also, bear in mind that the north of the island is slightly codler than the rest,so the water was freezing!
