We booked this hotel for our honeymoon on December 2019. Of course we were looking forward to going, coronavirus hit, Marriott itself closed down the hotel and cancels all reservations. It of course has been nothing short of a nightmare trying to get a refund. We’ve called both Marriott and the hotels numerous times, have been lied to and told if we send an email confirmation of cancel that our refund would come shortly afterwards, and of course nothing happens. Marriott customer service has been nothing but unhelpful and have engaged in unprofessional and untrustworthy practices (directly telling you to do one thing and have the outcome be another from what was said). Short to say, I would veer against staying at this property and all other Marriott properties for a very long time. They are untrustworthy and will lie to you directly!
Fantastic late break at the Domes. My husband is a platinum member and we were upgraded to a room over two levels with a jacuzzi on the balcony looking over the pool. Staff fantastically attentive and couldn't do enough for you. Amazing breakfast with free flowing champagne🍾. I really liked the fact that there's so many sun beds round the two pools because as it isn't a massive hotel neither pool ever felt busy. Only criticism is that the beach isn't private so you get lots of people wandering across. There's a lovely Church with a mini church all set in an olive grove overlooking the sea. Definitely worth a walk. Two very nice restaurants just outside the hotel. We walked in Chania once but it's a bit far and the walk itself is not very pretty. But taxis are cheap and there is a regular bus. We got a taxi into Chania for sunrise one morning. Absolutely worth it we had the harbor to ourselves and got amazing pictures!
We visted in October. It's a lovely place but not quite as good as Domes Miramare in Corfu but classy all the same. Staff are very nice but service at Noruz is good but not quite as attentive as Miramare. Rooms are lovely, great beach front location. Food is ok although a bit fussy in the evening A la Carte. We much prefered the private restaurant just out side the hotel gates , really great food and friendly service. The biggest problem with this place is that it is not in a nice area. Local roads seem to be full of giant discount furniture warehouses and non stop traffic. We took a short drive to the old town which is lovely but the journey there is truly dreadful with run down power station etc. Basically perfect if you stay at the resort but you need to travel to find anywhere that is traditional Greece
Perfect contemporary, relaxing beachside hotel
We visited at the end of the season, so it was relatively quiet but certainly not dead. We had a standard room, but it was very well appointed (apart from the weird tap that came through a pipe from the ceiling!) and comfortable - including a large terrace with sizeable plunge pool and outside bath. Room service was efficient and friendly. Two pools - we used the quieter one, which had great loungers and sofas, and was big enough to do proper laps in. Breakfast was excellent - sitting outside looking at sea was wonderful every morning. Very ample range, modern, organic, a lot of homemade elements (e.g. marmalade), fresh, healthy - including any coffee you wanted from the machine at no extra charge. A good gym. Front desk very friendly and can order a taxi into town, arriving in a couple of minutes and only costing 10 euros or less (easy to get a return trip from the main square). We ate at the restaurant opposite one evening but it was a bit lacklustre, and didn;t eat at the hotel restaurant, so worth going into town. Everything about this place worked well - it was modern and hip, but not overbearingly so - just a well run, friendly, venue with great facilitites.
Incredible incredible property, some service mishaps
One of the most beautiful properties I have ever stayed at which includes many of the most famous marriott brand properties. The pools and beach is absolutely incredible. Our upgrade was to a bi-level suite with a hot tub. Although it felt like they squeezed a lot into the room and it was a bit tight, was still an awesome upgrade. The only issue is there’s not much around in terms of food in our opinion. On the service, a few instances where they couldn’t get our keys right and took a long long time to deliver something, but I can get over that for the quality of the property.
