Our best visit even through difficult times
We have stayed at this lovely hotel many times since it opened. Yes it’s getting a little frayed around the edges but the refurbished rooms are lovely and it wouldn’t take too much to return it to tip top condition. We stayed this year for a special anniversary celebration so chose to stay for 3 weeks instead of 2 and loved every minute. Even the last week when the hotel started to prepare for its closure (very sad) the staff were professional, friendly and efficient right until the very last minute when there was just our table and 2 chairs in the restaurant. Last men standing! Food was great, cocktails amazing, beach beautiful, room perfect.... but as has been said many times it’s the staff that make this place they are truly in a league of their own. Sophie is a brilliant manager and has made such a great team spirit and they all seem to work so well together. It’s great to see the same friendly faces every visit. Hazel, Joan, Kathy, Delores, Michael, Andrea, Dawna, Tanya, Pamela, Lisa, Celeste, Shane, Kevin, Crystal, Sasha, Joanna...I could carry on all day there’s just so many top class staff. Sorry to those I haven’t had space to mention. Monica and her assistant on the beach/garden were greeting us every morning with big sunshine smiles. The dine around is a great idea we managed to get to Tamarind and to Waves before the lock down started. The entertainment was good, karaoke is especially good fun. Please Marriott don’t change this lovely hotel and it’s staff you really have bought a little jewel in the whole of the Caribbean. Stay safe everyone and we hope to see you all next year. Thank you all so much for your professionalism and for keeping up your spirits in what must have been a worrying time for you. You are truly the best.
Relaxing week in Barbados
Recently returned from a week at the Crystal Cove to celebrate my birthday. Really enjoyed it. Nice ocean view room right on the beach, days spent lazing by the beach/pool under an ingenious shaded sunlounger, often brought drinks by staff to keep refreshed. Liked the Cave Bar for cocktails and alternated between Reflections and Drifters for food. One evening at Drifters had a fab seafood salad and gorgeous steak. Enjoyed the steel drums one night as entertainment but other than that the evening bands/entertainment were not great. Didnt spoil our hol though as we were there to relax. Also loved my happy birthday message in the pool. The Cliff is nearby and really lovely as a treat but beware it's very expensive! Overall 4/5
Our first visit to Crystal Cove did not disappoint, the setting is really lovely, we visited the sister hotels by water taxi which was nice to do. We felt that Crystal Cove was the best, it has lovely gardens and the beach are is really nice and well maintained. Plenty of sunbeds around the pool areas and beach areas, the pools are not good for any serious swimming but the sea makes up for that, they are however ideal for cooling off. The hotel is well placed, with a sports bar(Wendy's) 5 mins walk away and a bus stop right outside the gates. The food was a very good standard and the staff were absolute superb, especially if you take the trouble to interact with them.
I found myself alone on holiday at Crystal Cove, as my friend was unable to travel with me. Although nervous initially, everyone made me feel extremely welcome and part of the family. Perfectly placed on the seashore, it was everything I'd hoped it would be, and more. Thank you to everyone.
Wonderful holiday - we will be back
We visited the Caribbean last year and loved it so this had a lot to live up to... and it did in bucket loads . Yes some areas are a little tired but the general feeling was one of complete relaxation. The food was great, the staff just wonderful - too many to thank. All so helpful and friendly Loved the beach, swam with turtle organised by Dwayne. Snorkelling was great and the cocktails just fabulous. We made some really lovely friends while here . 🌴☀️🥂🍹 We were staying as the Coronavirus outbreak was just gathering momentum, it was nice to be protected from it slightly . I do hope Barbados isn’t scared from it. We will be back 👍
