Everything about our experience at Sal Salis can only be described as amazing. There is no doubt about the fact that this is a 5 star eco resort. Everything about it has been extremely well done and consequently very hard to find any faults. The accommodation is very well appointed and comfortable, notwithstanding the fact that the bathroom is very eco based, ie. waterless toilets and sparingly provided water supply. However, there is a simple heating system applicable to the shower only, so warm showers are available if required. The guest hub is excellent and contains a good kitchen from which breakfasts, lunch and dinner are provided in truly gourmet style. The resident chef currently at Sal Salis is very good and we found that that not only was the variety on offer quite extensive, but the very high quality of the food was maintained throughout our stay. There is an open bar, 24 hours a day, with a huge variety of drinks and beverages which include top wines from WA and high class spirits. The long table dinners at night are an excellent idea and a great way to meet and interact with interesting people from all over Australia. Then there is the wonderful staff, all very enthusiastic and keen to please. The holding company has done an excellent job in recruiting such good staff. However, I figured that it is a good idea to visit closer towards the opening of the season, as it is hard to believe that the staff can maintain such a high level throughout the whole season. There are always at least two excursions offered everyday, including hikes in the national park and snorkeling outings. Many of the staff are experts in the field of marine biology or other sciences, so make outstanding guides. And of course, arrangements can be made to go whale shark watching, if you desire. Overall, this visit was an absolutely great experience and one which we plan to repeat.
My friend and I spent the 1st week of the season at this fabulous Resort. We had 4 nights of being totally pampered..........the snorkelling was incredible right in front of the Resort and we were taken for adventures to a few other special locations nearby also. All the things I had on my "to do"list were achieved with the help of the lovely staff. We went for an easy hike at Yardie Creek, still hot and we are not spring chickens anymore! Kayaking was on my list and even managed to stand and paddle for a bit on a Paddle Board, before falling off. I had great assistance to do this! The Meals were of an extremely high class and never disappointed, any dietary requirements are seen to. I loved the fact that the wine and even spirits were all sourced from WA and of a very high standard. Everything is included in the booking price and was worth every cent......do yourself a favour and go!
An ideal place to unwind and relax. It’s away from all the hustle and bustle of Exmouth. The meals were five star quality and the chef catered to all dietary requirements. The tent is well equipped with environmentally friendly products. Cameron was a delightful, helpful and kind staff member and I would not hesitate in returning because he made the stay so much more enjoyable. He went swimming with guests and assisted a guest who became overwhelmed while snorkelling. He always worked with a genuine smile and was always neatly presented. Improvements needed The drop toilet was ok but extra sawdust for guests to use would possibly eliminate the number of flies. A mosquito net as such for over the beds would be ideal as the flies buzzing around your face in the morning is not pleasant. Dispose of chipped crockery, a turn off for a luxurious establishment. Staff to wash and wear clean uniforms regularly. One staff members shorts were appalling and the wearing of bed socks with open footwear was not what I would think an establishment of this calibre should be accepting of its staff members. The only con I feel was the guests who felt compelled to compete with each other of their social status. Relax guests you’re on holidays and there’s no need for such behaviour.
Magical Birthday trip
My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in early October. It was my birthday on the 9th and we wanted to do something special to celebrate. We had never been campers but this was ‘glamping’ something a bit different so we were understandably slightly apprehensive. However, we needn’t have feared, the tent was fantastic, very clean and fully equipped with everything we needed. The bathroom was all ecological, the eco toilet was very clean and we never experienced any sort of odour from it. We could also get a hot shower. Cold water only from the tap over the bathroom sink, which had to be pumped from the tap, but that was fine. The tent was very close to the beach so we could hear the sea all the time and felt very close to nature. The site itself was very comfortable and stylish with a great communal dining area and an excellent choice of first class meals together with an open bar. We met some amazing people and shared our experiences over meals which were taken together at the communal dining table. Lots of banter, laughter and a little serious conversation, a heady mix! We tried kayaking (fantastic), went snorkelling, visited some fabulous beaches and saw some breathtaking scenery on a long walk. The staff were absolutely brilliant! Nick in particular made my birthday very special and Cam, Zac, Emily, Andre + the chefs were so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. They are such a welcoming and accommodating team. Weather was surprisingly hot for October and the starry skies at night were a sight to behold. We were also lucky enough to see the turtles mating and venturing onto the beach. This was a truly magical and special vacation and we will cherish the memories of this trip for a long time to come. Our thanks go to all the staff who looked after us so attentively and really made our holiday. Highly recommended!
Wonderful place to be, excellent staff, so willing to engage with you & 5 star friendly service , nothing is too much trouble for them. The happy casual atmosphere they create coupled with 5 star service & the best food ever , made our stay just perfect. Tents are very comfortable & every need is catered for . Snorkelling, walking, kayaking, seeing the turtles & reef life is something you don’t get in one place like you do at Sal Salis . Def give them 10 stars ⭐️ & will be back for more .
