nice stay for 4 days
really nice. You spend quite some money here, and staff is trained to push you to this exercise but the service is in accordance. Unfortunaltely for us, weather conditions were bad. we had a first pool bedroom which was very dark. Should be careful as some bedrooms are quite far from everything..
A great getaway experience
friendly and helpful staffs, beautiful resort, amazing dining experience at Tree Tops, only 5 mins distance from the airport, hotel own beach, private pool with swing.. Top notch comfortable stay. Strongly recommended.
I would like to thank everyone at the Anantara Lawana for making our stay around New Year Eve absolutely perfect. We booked two adjacent pool rooms. The rooms are spacious, well decorated and superbly maintained. The private pool with only 6 rooms around it is lovely, creating a private, calm and peaceful setting. Cleaning and turn down are done perfectly, very discreetly and perfectly on time everyday. The whole resort is well organized: rooms are at the top of the little hill, hence very quiet and restaurants and beach downhill where you overlook at the cosy little beach and infinity pool. The gardens, paths, general setting are very harmonious and give the feeling of walking in a private beautiful garden. We were beautifully looked after by Khun Noey, our personal host. She is the loveliest, most efficient young lady: all our queries, questions were dealt within minutes! Her recommendations always very reliable. We already miss her beautiful smile and kindness. Thank you so much, Khun Noey ! The staff at the breakfast room and beach restaurant are very kind and efficient. They always remember what your favorite food is and greet you with smiles and jokes. We had a great dinner at the Tree top where Khun May took care of our family. I also wrote a review to make justice to the creative young chef’s cuisine. We also experienced very good and professional massages at the beautiful spa where Khun Penny, spa manager, recommended two wonderful therapists: Khun Karn and Khun Prong. All in all, we initially planned to stay only 4 nights but we felt so relaxed and pampered that we extended our stay over the New Year. In those rough times, it is very brave of Anantara to stay fully open, maintaining a manicured resort and employing happy staff. Well done to all the team, thank you again for a wonderful stay.
All care but no responsibility
We visited the resort in Jan/Feb 2020 for a 50th B'day celebration. The staff, per usual, were super with advise, tips and interaction. Room was great with mid location to the beach & entrance. Ok views. Being members of Anantara Club I expected a touch more attentive service from senior management. But alas, we were just another run of the mill, customer. The lack of care came to the fore when we had the b'day dinner at their super expensive restaurant (more expensive than a 5 star in Sydney). The chef did come & chat to us during the meal. Unfortunately, I suffered from extreme food poisoning that night & the next 2 days & night. God awful, awful, awful. The raw fish might not have helped either. The next morning at breakfast staff realised I was not my joshing self & enquired to the cause of depression. By chance, the same staff from the previous night was at breakky. During the cause of the breakky a low level senior staff turned up & offered to take me to the hospital. They did not even have an in house medico/nurse. I was throwing up & suffered from diarrhoea for 3 days with every half run on the first night & day. On the 2nd day I had to go to the hospital for medication/ prescription. The hospital experience is another story by itself. All thru that ordeal, when my partner had to put up with me running to the toilet for 3 nights, before our departure, not a single upper level management inquired after their sick resident of the moment. Neither did the restaurant/management show any care or remorse. No offer of " condolense". I would have thought some form of compensation would have been the normal course. Sadly, of the 5 day stay, we only enjoyed 1.5 days. I could not wait to get out of the most inhospitable venue. The manager and management need a training course in customer relations. Abysmal, is the word that comes to mind, apart from the base level staff. So much for a 50th celebration. Oh, they did send us a mini cake to the room which we left for the staff to enjoy. Also, I did provide them with loads of chocolates from Australia, which they appreciated. Overall, the manager Kurt, did not perform his job, At departure the staff were very apologetic but nobody else put in an appearance to say goodbye. Embarassment might have played a part. This venue is the first Anantara venue where management have been sorely missing. We have always had tours provided by other managers in other venues. I actually started this review while I was bed ridden at the resort. But, something more serious occurred. And then the covid 19. Only now, I was reviewing some year old pics on my phone when Anantara sent out emails, which totally jogged my unpleasant memory of the stay. I do sincerely hope, nary another individual suffers a similar fate with nary a care from management of any resort. Salute you, Anantara Lawana management.
Beautiful hotel plus muay thai and pilates for the family
Enjoyed our stay at the three room private villa. Beautiful pool with giant floaties which the kids loved. Big thanks to Mr Noon, our fitness trainer who organised family pilates and muay thai for us and our three boys. All at the roof top boxing rink overlooking the ocean!
