A lovely stay, great weather and really friendly staff
I have just spent 4 nights at The Athena Beach Hotel with a friend, and absolutely loved it. Super friendly and helpful staff, great location and suitable for friends, solo travellers, families and honeymooners. The hotel was super clean and I really loved the outdoor cinema in the evening which was by the beach, in the gardens. The hotel were incredibly diligent with COVID rules and regulations with plenty of sanitiser stations around the hotel. Go for the superior sea view rooms. Stunning views and you also get to dine in the VIP restaurants and late check out is included. You will receive a bottle of wine in the room for free.
A pleasant stay with plenty of sunshine
Stayed here for a week with friends and overall the hotel ticks most boxes. Plenty of sun loungers around the pool, breakfasts and lunches were good, staff were generally polite & helpful. Our only slight negative was that dinner was always a disappointment in the main dining room - crowded, service was terrible (the staff were great but too few of them), food was often running out if you chose to eat after 9pm. The standard rooms were also quite small and felt dated. I thought probably a 3-3.5* hotel than 4 stars. That said, we had a great time and would recommend this hotel to others.
Amazing Hotel, loved it!
Where to start......I booked very last minute on a Thursday night for arrival on the Friday. Because of unfortunate timing the booking system was updated whilst I was mid 'transaction' and I couldn't book for the Friday night. Called the hotel and they were very accommodating in sorting this for me quickly, good start! Booked the elite/premium all inclusive and was not disappointed :-) Staff - Were all super friendly/helpful from the moment I arrived at the hotel. Reception staff always willing to help with queries, pool/maintenance/cleaning staff always had a smile for you and special shout out to all the staff in the restaurants/bars, they were great! Room - Premium sea facing 2nd floor room meant I had a cracking view every time I stepped out on to the balcony. Spacious room with all the amenities and a comfortable bed. Pool/Beach - Lovely pools with plenty of space between sun loungers and no problem at al either with getting a lounger/parasol. Same could be said for the small private beach, nice little space with floating jetties to get you into the water so you can avoid the rocks! Food/Drink - Brilliant! On the elite package you can take a la carte everyday in Zephyr restaurant and it was absolutely worth it, evening meals were very very good. Breakfast on elite package was also great, lots of choice. Same could also be said for the lunch in Leda, the buffet was fantastic and varied everyday. Plenty of in-between drinks/snacks available on the all inclusive as well. Some really good cocktails, wines and lots of non alcoholic to choose from as well, milkshakes, ice creams etc Location - 20 minute swift walk along the coastal path into Paphos centre. Hotel right on the beach, perfect location I normally don't do holidays on all inclusive nor just for doing 'nothing' but given the current struggles of pandemic that's exactly what I wanted to do and Athena Beach made it so easy and enjoyable! Loved it and I am sure at some point I will return, thank you :-)

We visited the Athena Beach hotel under strange times but the warm welcome of previous visits was as good as ever. The staff especially Odile ,the duty manager,made us feel that this holiday would just as good as the ones that we have had in the past. All COVID-19 recommendations were explained to us any changes were communicated to all guests. The hotel was clean and the sun beds etc were positioned to respect social distancing. We can definitely say that this holiday was just as good as ones in previous years.
Our thanks must go to all the staff (Reception/restaurants/shop/sunbed area/gardeners/cleaners) for working under such restrictions that we have never seen the like of before (and hope never to see again once the virus has been controlled). We did miss the warm greetings and conversations with the last General Manager, Mr Lambros, particularly after dinner in the evenings. Sadly, this didn't happen during this visit with the current General Manager. I also believe that Mr Lambros is due "Happy Birthday" comments soon and hope he still keeps up to date with reading these reviews. The hotel would benefit from the creation of an exclusive gender neutral disabled toilet facility (or even two), on the poolside level. One on the bar/reception level would also be a benefit. A lot of disabled people require assistance when using the toilet (I speak from personal experience) and at the moment the only option is to go back to our room. I appreciate that there are disabled toilets within the gents/ladies, but it is not right to take your partner in with you for assistance.""
