Great Stay - highly recommend
Hotel on the edge of town, the town is small, one main high street, would probably take 30 minutes to walk the entire length, some very nice shops and also regular souvenir/gift type shops, couple of supermarkets and one very exclusive supermarket at the top of town very much like a ‘Whole Foods’. Huge Marina with lots of Superyachts. Mask wearing is mandatory outside and around the town, there is a small police presence in the evening, very friendly not intimidating at all. Eating and drinking in town is cheap compared to home, we ate at several restaurants, nice food, good service and really good value for money. Joy – in between hotel and beach Skopea Inn Cesar Et Lounge Nen Restaurant and Pool Bar Blue Lounge Breeze – not really recommend this one 30 minutes from Dalaman Airport. We paid £12.50 for a taxi (yellow cab). There is a fleet of golf buggies to take guests to the private beach and restaurants although we tended to walk, the service is very efficient. Mask wearing is mandatory in the buggy, and in the hotel and the restaurants if you are walking around going to the loo etc. Your temperature is taken on entry and noted, this also applies to the beach and beach restaurant. Nice beach, private but members of the public can pay for the day. Crystal clear water, drink and food service and WiFi, plus a nice ice cream parlour. Towels etc provided at the beach and pool, 2 per person, all wrapped, good quality towels. Sanitiser everywhere, nice clean beach toilets. Small pool but very clean and nice sun loungers, all sun loungers are sanitised every day on the beach and the pool. Breakfast is a mix of table platter and buffet. Good service and good quality, there is an egg station and pancake station. The Breeze restaurant (Marina/Beach) is OK, very expensive compared to town, best bit about it is the view, personally thought the food was not great, but good service. We booked a Superior room which was very nice, it was on the ground floor with access to a small terrace and garden close to the pool. Four Poster bed, tea/coffee making facilities – no milk, just go to the pool bar and they will give you fresh milk in a lidded container to keep in your fridge. Lots of wardrobe space, marble bathroom with robes/slippers/Molton Brown toiletries. I will just say though, the hotel takes dogs, the ‘block’ we were in was the one assigned for dogs. There was a lot yapping over 2 evenings – the owners went out and left the dogs until quite late, this was an issue and really annoying. However the hotel were amazing, the first night after an hour they came and took the dog to reception, they were very apologetic, the 2nd night I was a bit upset to be honest, we were on holiday in very trying times, we work hard and a yapping dog was the last straw. The hotel moved us to a Deluxe Room for the last few nights of our stay, shout out to Anij / Anil on reception (sorry not completely sure of the name) she was tremendous, her customer service is second to none. If you can afford it book a Deluxe Room, twice the size of a Superior room with huge balcony overlooking the sea, and private pool area. Covid procedures excellent, hotel is spotless and well maintained, all staff very helpful. We had a day out on a Gulet – excellent value VIRA - £15 each for the day including a superb lunch. See separate review. Would definitely recommend, good value for money, hotel is a bit more expensive than the town for drinks and food, but overall much cheaper than home ! By the way - saw a review about Kids - no kids while we were there, only on the beach at the weekend and they were not staying at the hotel -.
Great but - Beware the kids!!
This is a lovely sprawling hotel, good service, very competent COVID-19 precautions however beware the kids! It was our own fault as we usually make sure to book adults only but travelling late September early October we didn’t expect to be visiting a quality hotel come crèche! Timing breakfast wrong (as we did on three occasions) meant being sat amongst families with crying babies and children playing computer games at full volume with no earphones. Not the most pleasant way to start a day. And as for the beach - the only way to get some semblance of peace and quiet was to move down the far end away from the sand and onto some decking. So if you don’t mind children and babies this is a great hotel however those wishing for peace and quiet then probably not ideal!
Absolutely stunning must stay resort Location - edge of Central Göcek. Only 30 minutes from Dalaman Airport. Göcek is a small (very) upmarket marina town: has a 'riviera' vibe to it. Hotel has a fleet of golf carts to take guests to the private beach and restaurants although it's also a very nice 15 minute walk. Service very efficient. Amenities - it's all about the beach! One of the best beaches in Europe hands down. Private, exclusive, crystal clear waters, drink and food service and even WiFi, plus a nice ice cream parlour. Towels etc provided at the beach and decent (not loud) background music which was a nice touch. Also has a quality spa, gym and decent sized pool. Food - superb breakfast. Mix of table platter and buffet. Q lounge restaurant (Japanese) is superb food and a breathtaking setting (memorable and recommended, be sure to book as it's popular!). The marina side restaurant is also superb. Service - staff were very attentive and met all of our requirements and special requests. Hotel - feels like an exclusive little village with a river running through it. Lots of attractive water features and gardens. Room was great, very high ceilings, posted bed, large balcony and we were lucky to have great views over the sea and marina! Covid comments - very excellent procedures and amenities. Second to none. Value - not cheap but you get what you pay for. Therefore excellent value and highly recommended. One Hotel I will certainly be going back to!
Great Hotel and Resort but....
This was a second visit having been 2 years ago. Good points: • The hotel and resort are high quality and well maintained. • Its very modern, clean, with overall excellent service. • It is quite close to Gocek’s town centre and marina for restaurants, gifts and anything else you need. • The private beach is just less than a mile away with a free regular shuttle from back and to the hotel. • Even though this is the second time we have been here we are still to venture out of Gocek which says something. • Excellent in taking Covid19 precautions with all staff wearing masks all of the time, temperature checks everywhere and hand sanitisation. Concerns: Our dilemma is whether we would come back a third time and not because we have been here before: • We had a room on the top floor of one of the outlying blocks. The balcony was in the roof and you could not see the fantastic view unless standing up. It was a great sun trap but like a prison yard if you were sitting down because of the high walls. The outside furniture could have been much better and comfortable. • The breakfast has been limited by Covid19 and is just the same every day. As a result, we went out twice to relieve the monotony!! • Guests are very mixed about wearing masks. I don’t understand why the staff driving the beach shuttle carts refuse to transport all people on without one!! • The Breeze restaurant is v expensive compared to what you can get in the town. • The hotel could offer more tours.
Best resort/hotel/staff/pools I have seen in years......
D-Resort is excellent. Full Stop! We stayed there twice on both ends of a gulet cruise. Both visits were met with very deep Covid-19 procedures, friendly staff who really help you get in and settled asap, excellent breakfast, a fabulous private beach with cart shuttles at your disposal, amazing pools and poolside service and amenities.' Göcek is a great destination and and a town full of great shops and places to eat. D-Resort is a great base to explore. Treat yourself.
