Resort does not answer e-mails
I sent three e-mails, both to office and reservations. Waiting for the reply to my e-mails regarding the trip that was cancelled due to lockdown of Thailand. At the moment it seems that the resort is trying to ignore us. Waiting for the professional attitude.
A NIGHTMARE COMES TRUE
I've contemplated whether or not to write you a negative review regarding my previous stay at Santhiya Koh Yao Yai on March 18th and 20th, 2022. I was there to relax and enjoy after stressful weeks of hotel inspections for the Banyan Tree Hotel Group in Phuket. However, things became somewhat of a "nightmare come true" once I arrived and for the duration of my stay at your establishment. So I believe it is about time to share a true story of what really happened. To begin, let me state categorically that Santhiya Resort and Spa has marketed itself as a five-star resort, citing numerous accolades from organizations such as TripAdvisor, Thailand Tourism, and Booking.com. And when these claims compare to the experience I had during my stay, the result is far from the opposite and defies description. And when these claims are compared to my stay, the result is far from the opposite and defies description. While there is no doubt that the venue is exquisitely designed with the delicacy of Thai artisans, I dare to say, "I can't remember or wish not to remember because the service and food were subpar for a 5-star resort." Since my arrival, everything had been a complete disaster at the harbor's checking-in counter, and later, the poor lady who was responsible for all bookings burst into tears, unable to cope with the pressures of a disorganized system. Then, upon entering the room, which appeared to be deserted for an eternity as I inspected the dusty table and wooden floor, You could almost see the guest attendant's footprints as she gave the room tour Now, it appears as though there was prevalent internal miscommunication and transportation breakdowns during my stay. The only way from my room to the main restaurant near the lobby is to take one of the in-house wooden cars. However, no one informed me that there had to be a stop in between for the guest to swap cars, so I, along with the other guests, were left in the dark as to what would happen next. Additionally, no one, not a single member of staff at the resort, appears to recall the guests' names. And each time, it was the guests who approached the staff, who were absorbed in their mobile phones and gossiping. Is this the way you've instructed your employees to treat your guests? It was fortunate for you that I was not present to inspect the hotel for another of my hotel articles; otherwise, I would have described this as "a disastrous vacation akin to a haunted nightmare that could haunt your memories for days and days." However, I must be candid with you about one thing: if anyone asks how my stay at Santhiya was, I must tell them the truth about my experience. And if anyone asks me to recommend anything, you can be certain that yours will not be on the list.
The hotel is good, but they need to fix alot of mistakes!
The hotel is good, but there are some factors that made me sad -Swimming pool The pool was good, but the pool cleanes was awful. There was leaves, some of the dead bugs and trash. -Kids Club On our first day, our kids went there, but club was closed even tho it should be open, but not. We went to ask reception and they said "Today kids club staff is not here". The next day only 1 ladie were there. Also it was dirty with dust and trash. -Beach The beach was good, but as they own some part of the beach, they could clean it. -Food Even tho it was good, there are still some bad factors. When contacted room service, it took 3-4 minutes to answer. They also don't bring ice-cream to the room. -Price The prices are good, but for a villa with private pool is overpriced, *7000 Baht*(250$) per night.
My family and I stayed at the Koh Yao resort from 21-24 april. Afterwards I found out that they charged me twice for the stay; once 12th of may (20334 THB) and then again on the 23th of may (20343 THB). I have tried to contact them/you several times but no one write me back. That is really bad service... I liked the stay, but it was not worth the dobbelt price. So if anyone from the hotel reads this - please look into it.
A 3 start hotel in disguise
This was supposed to be a 5 star resort. Well. It is far from that. When I ordered through hotels.com it was specifically noted that airport transfer is included. This place is located at a remote island and only accessible with a boat. Upon check in the guy at the desk argued aggressively that I need to pay extra 950 Bhat for the transfer since it's not included. Be aware of this extra payments as the trap will not be exposed until you are already on the way to the hotel!! Secondly, the weather was stormy and we had 1 full day without electricity! The staff told me the whole island has no electricity due to bad weather but this was not the case as the lights outside were lit just fine. The room was leaking and rain started to fall inside and flood the villa. They ignored the issue when I called them ! The staff understand basic English only and communication is minimal, making check in and check out process tiresome. Food ordered as room service was surly not a 5 star - small and basic pizza that belong to a 3 start hotel at the best case
