A fabulous hotel 10/10 for everything - except the dreaded sun bed issue! People reserving at 7am so none available after breakfast - need to adopt a no reservation policy and stick to it! Also a lack of parasols around the main pool. Get this sorted and it will be 5 star review!
A lovely hotel that is very clean, spacious and a good variety of rooms for all budgets. The food was generally very good, lots of choice and was a good standard. We opted for B&B as it was our first time here and we wanted to explore and we did have a dinner one evening which was very good. Wine list quite comprehensive. The room we had on the top floor was AMAZING and I would highly recommend it for a quiet, private break with outstanding sea views and it's little plunge jacuzzi pool. Housekeeping was excellent and non intrusive. Reception team were outstanding - we swapped rooms and this was handled brilliantly as was the late check-out request - nothing is a problem to them. Pepe especially was a lovely welcoming guy with a great personality. Our one gripe was the pool area and the dreaded reserving of sunbeds in the main pool area - during the morning one side is sunny and one side shady. All of the beds in the sun were reserved before breakfast and there was nowhere to go.... This is something easily remedied with some polite notices and reminders to guests, then it is fair for everyone to get a chance. Marbella is great and the walk to Puerto Banus from the hotel is a lovely one. Overall we had a lovely stay and will definitely be coming back.
Great Hotel - Fantastic Location
A large group of us stayed for 10 nights for a friends wedding nearby. The hotel was fantastic, Very clean and well looked after. The staff looked after us very well. Often offering free snacks and cocktails around the pool in the afternoon which was a lovely touch. The bar man also gave us all a round of free shots on our last night which was really lovely. Food was ok - we went B&B as like to eat out lots and had some group dinners arranged. Breakfast was good with an egg station, toast station, hot food (sausages, bacon, hash browns, beans etc), pastries, salad etc. We often had lunch at the hotel (burgers, toasties, salads etc) - this food was average to be honest, but convenient. The location is fantastic. 15 minute stroll down the promenade to Puerto Banus marina and all it's shops, bars and restaurants. Lots of lovely beach bars only a 5-10 minute walk away. There is also an ALDI opposite the hotel which is great for drinks and cheap snacks. Taxis are always waiting outside the lobby. The hotel had some low key activities such as yoga, aqua gym and face mask making. Love that the hotel has ponds with big fish and turtles! Fascinating to watch! Rooms (standard room) were a good size, cleaned regularly and had large balconies with chairs and table. Beds were really comfortable - slept like a log. A/C was very good too! The shower was fantastic with rainfall shower head or hand held. Soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion all kept supplied. Bath and pool towels were included. Would definitely return here!
Best holiday ever
We recently stayed for 10 days n the Iberostar selection in Marbella this month. It was our first time staying with Iberostar. We had such an amazing experience. The staff couldn’t be nicer especially Isabel. We decided to go all inclusive. It was the best decision we made. The morning buffet was fabulous, we especially loved the omelettes, fresh fruit and pastries!! Both lunch and dinner menu had loads of choice every day. We were really impressed by the little treats that staff gave us while we lounged around the pool every day. I’d also like to note that the place was beautifully maintained and cleaned daily to a high standard. There were also lots of activities provided throughout the day by Rita, I would recommend to do them. They’re great fun!! It is in a great location only 20 min walk from Porto banus. We had a fabulous experience at Iberostar and we look forward to coming back here again!
Very bad customer service at reception.
We had hod booked a twin room at this hotel 2 months before our arrival date. We were 2 adults, and at the time of booking our daughter who was accompanying us was 15. We arrived at checkin at 10:30 pm, but the very rude receptionist Inma refused for our daughter to stay in our room or to let us add an extra bed to our room, as our daughter has recently turned 16, and insisted we get her another room and pay another 1200 euro for the extra double room on top of our room. So we had to search for another hotel mid night to accommodate us, were they were happy to add our daughter with us. We were forced to cancel our booking with them, and above all they now want to charge us for cancelation fees. I do not recommend booking this hotel for families, very bad and rude customer service.
