Thanks you Giorgia of the HRM
The beginning of our holiday was not great, but Giorgia was very kind and helpfull. She really made our stay very comfortable. For us the hotel was not 5 stars, but Giorgia gave the service of a 5+ star hotel. Next to her, also the other people working in the hotel were very nice.
We stayed at this hotel well in February 2020 travelling with our two children. The transfer time to this resort is literally 15 minutes which is perfect if travelling with kids First impressions.... well what can I say! The hotel entrance and lobby and reception is incredible exactly what you would expect from a 5-star we were greeted with a glass of champagne and checking was reasonably quick. Our room was modern and contemporary with a spacious king bed and pull out sofa bed for the children and a lovely balcony overlooking the gardens. The room was cleaned and toiletries replenished daily. The resort itself is huge, particularly beautiful and well landscaped. The lagoon pool with the yacht feature is stunning when it's lit up an evening and there are multiple pools at this resort so getting a sunbed was not difficult. The pool at the daisy club is great for kids and includes the ice cream and drinks cart to save you having to return to the main area for refreshments. Although we don't have little ones, there are well equiped creches and miniclubs to keep little ones entertained if you need a break! There is so much to do for kids and adults here....mini-golf, yoga, football, pool games all and the animation team or non-stop with encouragement to get people of all ages involved. The most impressive I would say were the shows on an evening, we are regulars at Disney resorts so are expectations are a little high but it was very well delivered and professional. There are a few main buffet restaurants in the resort but the food variety and standard was high, they also did "themed" nights which I thought was a great. In addition to the buffet restaurants there was also 3 a la carte restaurants you could choose to eat in, a steakhouse a Japanese restaurant and an Italian restaurant. You need to book these on your first day to make sure that you can get a reservation as they are popular and well worth going to. We stayed on a half board option however after speaking to to the lovely Carolina we decided to upgrade for the last few days of our stay to all inclusive. I would recommend doing this in resort and speaking directly to Carolina, her customer service was first class and she was extremely helpful and made our stay that little bit more special! All in all this resort is absolutely first class, the surroundings, the food and the service level. We have already booked for February 21 and also February 2022!
Lovely hotel and surroundings
Originally booked at a H10 in Costa teguise, but due to covid19 we were moved to the Rubicon, slightly weary as we've never been to playa Blanca, we were pleasantly surprised, the hotel was very clean all precautions where in place, temp checking, plenty of hand sanitisers, the site is vast though not sure it would suit someone with limited mobility but the room was lovely, modern, clean and had everything you need, the staff where very helpful and patient, the only draw back for use was the distance from the main shopping area, but nothing a short, cheap taxi ride couldn't fix, highly recommend the marina area lots of shops and restaurants, and the locals were more than welcoming, definitely will be returning.
Nice break during covid
We were pleased with out holiday overall however due to Covid-19 I do not think that we saw this hotel at its best. We did not experience a massive queue at check in and the receptionist couldn't have done a better job as he rushed us through the necessary procedures so we could make it to the dining room before it closed as we arrived late. Our room was spacious, clean, quiet and had a beautiful view of the sea. The bathroom was a little bit tired but everything worked and was clean. The location was great for us, but it is a little way out of town. There is also a lovely pathway along the coast with great views of Fuerteventura. The food was good however there was not much choice and some dishes were cold. The restaurant staff could not have worked harder however there were far more guests in the hotel than the number of staff could cope with. There were queues for tables at some points. We managed to get into both Dolce Vita and Sakura which we enjoyed as a change from the Buffet. However do not order the Thai Red Curry as there is no heat in it and it tastes like a very mild Katsu Curry. My husband was very disappointed. There were very long queues for both the pool bar and the lobby bar as again there were too many guests for the number of staff. We didn't mind the queuing however some people were ordering multiple rounds of drinks at a time which slowed things down further. There were plenty of sun loungers and many different pools to choose from. Overall whilst there was clearly room for improvement we do feel some of the reviews of this hotel have been slightly harsh. The hotel is doing it's best considering we are in the middle of a Global pandemic and the UK Government opened a travel corridor to the Canaries with short notice at schools half term which resulted in an influx of guests that the Hotel may have unprepared for. We probably wouldn't return to this hotel but we would not be adverse to trying another H10
Perfect setting but hotel could do a lot better!
The hotel is in a lovely setting overlooking the sea The majority of the staff were welcoming and were adhering to good COVID safety processes. One of the reception staff could do with some retraining and more serving staff are required in the restaurants at meal times to ensure utensils and surfaces etc. are kept clean. The food was adequate but not to the standard expected of a 5* hotel The rooms were well maintained and kept clean. Some of the stairwells and corridors could do with cleaning More thought needs to be made around where travelers are placed within the hotel. The hotel was far from full so placing an older women travelling alone in the children's play area up two steep flights of stairs could have been avoided I would certainly return to Playa Blanca but would go back to "my" usual hotel which sadly wasn't open in October 2020
