Lovely 3 day break
Quality peaceful hotel in this hectic town! The Half Board meals were delicious and the service formal and friendly. The bar and garden beautifully designed but quiet. The rooms have sensational views of Vesuvius and the Sorrento area hills. Just great Italian hospitality.
Didn't want to leave
Wow what a hotel. Originally planned to stay 3 nights, but as soon as we walked in we began scheming to increase our stay and reduce our # of nights in Naples. The hotel is simply an oasis: beautiful, clean, 8 min walk from the train station (last Sorrento stop from Naples) and partially surrounded by lemon and orange tree groves. And what a view: From the rooftop deck you can look out over the lemon/orange groves and view the entire coastline. The staff was more accommodating than any place we stayed during our 10 days in Italy: helping with restaurant suggestions, ride pick ups, and accommodating our request to stay 1 additional night. The hotel grounds are lush and beautiful, the bar has indoor and outdoor seating, the buffet style breakfast was amazing, and rooftop bar/pool is so inviting we had a hard time leaving each day. As for pricing: An exceptional value for such a fabulous place. Something you usually don't read in hotel reviews. Along with some long days lounging by the pool and sightseeing around the town, we took a day tour of Amalfi coast and a day trip to Isle of Capri.
Best Hotel we've stayed at
We stayed for 12 days at the beginning of May for our honeymoon and had the most amazing time from start to finish. This hotel is amazing. Immaculately clean, close to the center of Sorrento, beautiful views, incredible food and the friendliest staff ever. To be honest the staff made this holiday for us - every single one were so friendly, funny, chatty and polite. Special thanks to Mario, Alessandro and Jiovanni from the bar and Samuel, Salvatore (all 3 of you) and all of the restaurant staff for being such friendly faces to see and chat to every day! You all work so hard, give the most amazing service and make staying at the hotel that extra bit special! The reception staff are also so lovely and helpful - they found out it was our honeymoon and sent a bottle of champagne to our room which was a lovely touch and helped us with a bit of an issue we had with our transfer home being stuck in traffic by calling the company for us. The rooftop pool is amazing - plenty of sun loungers with the most beautiful views and the rooms are beautifully Italian and soo clean (the maids are amazing). We will 100% be coming back and have recommended this hotel to everyone. Thanks so much for making our honeymoon so special. (Also make sure you go and watch the sunset from the roof! It's beautiful!)
We stayed at the hotel at the beginning of May and were very impressed with the standard of service we received The room was spacious and extremely clean with a lovely balcony overlooking the garden. All the staff were very professional and polite. The reception staff (Roberto and Rosalisa) were particularly helpful assisting us with a small issue we had and also booking trips. Rosalisa was very helpful in assisting us with booking "The Path of the Gods" walk which we would throughly recommend. Rosalisa even came in early to say good bye to us when we departed.
Outstanding and we’ll worthy of the 4-star superior rated hotel and restaurant.
My wife and I decided to return to the charming town of Sorrento, where we honeymooned 25 years ago and as part of our anniversary celebration. We stayed at the Grand De La Ville, a superior 4* hotel and absolutely loved it. Situated just a short walk from delightful orange and lemon groves, the hotel is about 10-12 mins walk from Sorrento town, where one can expect a different pace of life, great food and drinks. There is a very reasonably priced tour ‘train’ that offers a 30min audio tour in multiple languages but I recommend the horse-drawn carriage if you are a romantic. Great sized room with air conditioning and balcony. Free breakfast included as part of the package. The rooftop swimming pool offers panoramic views of Naples and Vesuvius, and we were impressed with the number of loungers and pool bar. The restaurant offers what amounts to a silver service dining experience with a great variety of a la carte or fixed menu options. The staff are all friendly and personable with cheerful conversations and great recommendations. The second larger pool offers hydro massage and hot showers and again, lots of loungers and parasols to sunbathe or shelter. Cannot fault this hotel.
