Step barefoot from the beach to the ocean-view terrace of the main restaurant, Indigo on the Beach, open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner – enjoy the refreshing sea breeze as you tuck into fresh and healthy dishes including grills, seafood, salads and home-made bread and pasta. The restaurant hosts a weekly beach barbecue with a live band. Enjoy a taste of the Orient at East, which is open for dinner and offers sensational Japanese, Thai and Indonesian cuisine in contemporary setting. Choose from fresh and tasty Italian dishes such as pizza, salad and homemade gelato at Ottimo!, the poolside restaurant which is open for lunch and dinner and also offers a kids' menu. The Jetty Grill is an adults-only beachside restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere and a choice of grilled meats, fresh seafood and wines by the carafe.
The simple rattan sofas and open-front beach setting of Indigo Bar create a wonderfully relaxed ambience for cocktails and freshly squeezed juices. Head next door to Coconut Grove which is set on the sand and provides a tranquil setting for barefoot lunch, afternoon tea and drinks. Sink into a deep sofa at the Pavilion Bar which is set in a charming open-sided pavilion and provides a relaxed venue for pre-dinner cocktails with live piano or jazz music to provide an elegant ambience. The bar also serves light snacks and afternoon tea all day. Sink your toes into the sand at the Jetty Bar, an informal beach bar open during the day and offering light bites and sundowners around the fire pit.

What’s nearby? The resort looks out over a horse shoe-shaped bay on the south coast of the island. It’s a five-minute walk to the nearest village – the hotel is in the St Mary’s Parish, which offers quiet waterfront clusters of cafés and churches. Jolly Harbour is 15 minutes' drive away; and English Harbour and Nelson's Dockyard are around 30 minutes' drive.
Tried and tested The resort has its own cinema, with a big-screen, plush seating and purple mood lighting. There are movie showings for little ones with the kids’ club, and families can also settle down for a cosy night in.
The sleeping arrangements Carlisle Bay is an all-suite resort, each with a soothing minimalist interior design, with cool white and blue or turquoise shades, a spacious balcony and sea views. We recommend the Beach Terrace Suites, which have direct access to the sand, a master bedroom for adults and a separate bedroom with twin beds for children. For larger families, the Carlisle Suite has a large living area that opens onto a terrace, and three bedrooms.
