Most convenient place to stay in Varanasi
Had a wonderful stay at Brijrama. Arrived at the airport and the driver escorted (approximately 30min ride) me to a boat (around 20min ride) ride to the hotel. They also have convenient arrangements for pikas to be performed at the kashi vishwanath temple, a Panditji escorts you from the hotel and takes care of everything and drops you back at the hotel. Just make sure to carry cash for auto rides to temples and for donations. Food was great too.
Excellent in every respect
Varanasi is the holiest city for Hindus in India. This fact alone means it has to be on your itinerary if you are touring India. The Brijrama Palace is the place to stay. It is located on the ghats and surrounded by small streets and alleys. It is at the heart of the city which means the only way to arrive and leave is via boat on the Ganges. It is about 20 minutes from the drop off point to the steps of the Brijrama Palace and an incredible experience to start your stay. The views on the Ganges are spectacular as local people go about their everyday lives. Colour abounds everywhere. The building was a former palace and is appropriately impressive. The steps to the entrance lift are steep and reception is a short lift ride away. The reception area has a luxurious feel with high quality decoration and seating. Our check in started in the reception area and was finished in our room. There are one or two low doorways to be aware of. We had specifically booked the Varuna Bhuj Room - it is on a high floor and has an incredible 180' view up and down the Ganges. We booked about a year in advance to get this room but I do not know how the price differed to other rooms. A visit to Varanasi is all about the experience and this room made it all the more memorable. The Ganges provides the life for the city and to experience that round the clock is something I will never forget. It is a very private room on the second floor. There are no adjoining rooms and you walk through a rarely used drinks "patio" to get to your door. The room was a reasonable size, with a good comfortable bed, comfortable chairs and good bathroom. It had high quality furniture and fittings with excellent decoration. The 'suite' element into the turret that gave the view exceeded our expectations. The list of complimentary inclusions was endless. The Brijrama is alcohol free and caters only for vegetarian food. We ate dinner and breakfast on both nights we stayed. The food and service are excellent. The service and attention to detail by all staff in the hotel is outstanding - we were certainly made to feel very welcome and important guests. I have no hesitation in recommending the Bhijrama Palace and if I return to Varanasi I will stay there again and hope I am fortunate enough to book the Varuna Bhuj Room.
THE place to stay in Varanasi
Definitely the place to stay in Varanasi!!! - Getting there by boat is already quite a wonderful experience! - Very warm welcome - The palace is fantastic, nicely decorated with works of art - The terrace overlooking the Ganges was our favorite spot during the afternoons. The views were amazing, and in the afternoons they serve complimentary chai with delicious bits and pieces to eat. - So many details, like the frame with our picture in our room, a present upon departure. - Breakfast was varied and offered wide variety to taste different dishes. - Complementary boat ride in the evenings to see the ceremonies from the river. - The hotel gift shop had beautiful pashminas. - It exceeded our expectations!!! The only negative side is that rooms are rather small with limited views. Varanasi would not have been such a wonderful experience if we had not stayed at the Brijrama Palace. We were definitely treated like royal guests!
Har Har Mahadev!
Varanasi, also known as Benaras or Kashi, abode of Lord Shiva, home to one out of the twelve jyotirlingas. On the banks of the river Ganga, it is divine, you do feel it. Finally visited Varanasi, which is steeped in history & known to be older than history also! Well happy to report it's off my bucket-list. We stayed at BRIJRAMA PALACE on the Dharbhanga Ghat. It's a lovely heritage property, restored beautifully so the old world charm/feel is intact. I give them an A+ for effort, they will do everything needed to make your stay comfortable. You have a boat at your service, to take you whenever you need to step out. They arrange for you to view the Ganga Arti, they serve a lovely hi-tea, the room comes fully stocked..you're sorted!! Chef Manoj & his team put their heart and soul & serve you some delicious food especially the local delicacies. Everything came fresh & piping hot to the table, (& that is very important to me😄). Our heatiest thanks Chef. I have saved the best for the last...KAASHI, their in-house spa, it's splendid! Perfectly relaxing in a soothing environment, with staff that is very well trained and understands what you need. They say your trip is incomplete if you haven't visited Bhairavnath, i would like to add Kaashi the Wellness Spa as well..
The only place to stay in Varanasi
This hotel/palace is the only place to stay in Varanasi. It’s breathtaking beautiful with architecture out of this world. It contains many antiques which makes you feel like royalty. The location is perfect too being in one of the major ghats so ideal for exploring the city. The rooms are immaculate and nothing is too much trouble for the staff who are both courteous and kind. It was my birthday during our stay and the hotel kindly arrange a cake and flowers. I am very sad to be leaving today but will be back for sure
