Growing up on her family farm in the Karoo, Lisa knew at an early age she wanted to work with animals. Raising orphaned lambs and rescuing abandoned birds on the farm led to her studying Nature Conservation at the Nelson Mandela University in George. Her practical year focused on working with wild animals, essential skills for her job as supervisor at Shamwari’s Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre where she has been for the past three years. When she isn’t caring for wildlife, she enjoys running, hiking and camping.
