Hanoi is the perfect springboard for your journey, awakening your senses in your first three days. Moving through ever-changing gears, you’ll cruise Halong Bay, boat along the Perfume River, and get swept up in the melee of Ho Chi Minh city, ending on a reflective note in the temples of Siem Reap.
Itinerary overview
Highlights of trip
Hanoi
You’ll arrive in the capital of Vietnam and head to your chosen hotel. Step out onto the busy streets where the calmness of t'ai chi at dawn collides with the cacophony of daily life. At every turn, there’s an aromatic food stall, a colourful building, or an ancient monument to catch your eye.
A lovely hotel away from the hustle and bustle of Hanoi but still close enough to easily explore.
Halong Bay
You’ll be collected from Hanoi for the four-hour drive to Halong Bay to board the elegant Au Co Cruise Ship, where you’ll spend a night onboard. It would be remiss to visit this part of the world and not see the beautiful Halong Bay. Boarding a traditional-style junk and taking an overnight cruise makes sure you see the best of it. There’s the chance to kayak through caves and find a quiet patch on a private beach, too.
Hue
After disembarking your cruise, you’ll return to Hanoi Airport for your onward flight to Hue to spend the next couple of nights in a countryside retreat outside Hue. You’re here long enough to spend a day exploring the highlights of Vietnam’s former capital, possibly including a traditional dragon boat trip.
Take time out for wellness, culture and tradition at this authentic countryside retreat.
Hoi An
Staying at the Almanity Hoi An you're in a prime location for exploring the city of Hoi An. Some of the city’s highlights are within walking distance of the hotel. Visit a traditional Vietnamese house or take a boat trip along the Thu Bon River for a different perspective of the city.
Set in the heart of Hoi An, this unique resort is dedicated to wellbeing and relaxation.
Ho Chi Minh City
Next is Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon, where you’ll stay for two nights — just enough time to scratch the surface of this bustling metropolis, that’s deservedly famous for its intriguing history, vibrant culture, and delicious street food. Your centrally situated hotel means Ben Thanh Market and the War Remnants Museum are within walking distance.
Relax after a day of exploring at this practical city-centre hotel, with a rooftop pool and its own cinema.
This central hotel has diverse dining and is a great base for exploring Ho Chi Minh City.
Siem Reap
You’ll fly to Siem Reap next, checking into Tara Angkor for three final nights. A tour of Angkor Wat takes you to the most famous spots in this intriguing epicentre of the Khmer civilisation. End the trip on a high and upgrade to a sunset champagne cruise.
This modern hotel is an ideal base to explore the spectacular Temples of Angkor.
World-class luxury, sublime service and a super-chic design with Khmer influences.
Just a stone’s throw from the temples, this 5-star sanctuary captures the real essence of Cambodia.
Koh Rong
Relax on the golden shores of the Cambodian island of Koh Rong following your full on trip through Vietnam and Cambodia. Stay three nights at The Royal Sands Koh Rong, a rustic chic getaway with individual villas: some that are down by the beach, others that are further up the hillside and a select few that feature a private pool.
A Cambodian paradise with private villas dotted along a 500-metre stretch of immaculate beach.
