A swish stay on International Drive
The upscale Hyatt Regency Orlando is a centrally located on I-Drive, putting you within easy reach of many Orlando attractions.
One of the benefits of staying at a towering 26-floor hotel like this is the choices of in-resort activities and restaurants it gives you. There are three restaurants (including a must-visit Italian steakhouse), a smattering of vibrant social spaces, and ooh-lovely extras like a full-service spa, rooftop tennis court, a games lounge, and firepits, plus a 24-hour market for early-morning and late-night snacks. A selection of swimming pools includes options with a slide and waterfalls, and a roster of resort activities stand-by to keep everyone entertained – “I’m bored” is never an uttered phrase in these parts.

It’s well-positioned on International Drive to visit Universal Orlando and Walt Disney World, although there’s no complimentary transport available, so you’ll have to make your own way to the parks.

The StayFit Fitness Centre is open 24/7 and has free weights, benches, yoga balls, and cardio equipment. There’s also a tennis court. In Descend 21, you can play pool and darts or try the golf simulator.
Complimentary bicycle rental is available for exploring International Drive on two wheels. The Grotto Pool opens at 7 am (a real bonus when adjusting to the time difference on your first couple of days). Look out for pool activities like hula hoop competitions, cannonball contests, DJs, and dancing. For a quieter pool scene, head to the Terrace Pool, where you can swim lengths. Balls and racquets are available if you fancy a game of tennis on the fourth-floor rooftop.
There isn’t a kids club, but this is still a resort designed with families in mind. With suites designed with for groups, and a grotto pool with a slide, this resort is undoubtedly appealing for family holidays. Look out for family-friendly activities on the pool deck and pick up bikes, including children’s helmets, from the concierge.
