Cinnamon Dhonveli Maldives

Unwind in a casual, all-inclusive surf resort

Settle into the laid-back lifestyle of Cinnamon Dhonveli.

Cinnamon Dhonveli is a popular resort, and it’s easy to see why. There are no airs and graces here, just an easy-going vibe that will cocoon you in its tropical folds. Being all-inclusive, all your food and drinks are taken care of, leaving you free to peruse the cocktail menu and help yourself to an extra snack guilt-free – you’re on holiday, after all.

We won’t judge if you find your favourite spot on the sandy shore and barely move. But there’s plenty more to tempt you away from your sun lounger, including island hopping adventures, sunset fishing, and dolphin watching. The resort also has incredible surf on one side of the island and gentle snorkelling on the other.

Why we love Cinnamon Dhonveli Maldives

  • Cinnamon Dhonveli is a 25-minute speedboat journey from the airport, whisking you to paradise in no time.

  • It’s a large and fun-loving resort that’s light, bright, and full of colour.

  • The Beach Bar is bound to become a favourite spot. It’s on the shoreline, and you can listen to the lapping water as you sip your cocktail.

  • Slip away to the spa, a Balinese-themed retreat.

You’ll be allocated one of three buffet restaurants to dine at throughout your stay, depending on where you’re located on the island, although you can request to eat at the others, too. As an all-inclusive resort, all your meals and drinks are taken care of. The resort’s bars are carefully positioned for watching surfers during the day, and the sunset come evening.

Koimala
The resort’s largest restaurant invites guests of Superior Rooms, Garden Bungalows, Beach Bungalows and Junior Beach Suites to indulge in creations from the live cooking stations.

Maakana
Open to guests staying in the Water Bungalows, Maakana has sensational views of waves crashing at Pasta Point.

Rehendi\ Guests of Overwater Suites and Beach Suites with Pool are invited to dine at Rehendi, where buffet offerings can be enjoyed inside the restaurant, on the deck, and under the stars. Other guests can eat here at a supplement.

Raiyvilla Bar
The resort’s sunset bar is the perfect location to finish a day in paradise. You’ll also find books from all over the world to borrow.

Raalhu Bar
Listen to the sound of the ocean at Pasta Point as you sip on an icy drink. Come in the daytime to watch the surfers tackle the waves.

Beach Bar
Order a fruity concoction and find a spot to enjoy the lagoon view. Open all day from 10am to 6pm.

We love the easy-going vibe of Raalhu Bar, where you can chat with the bar staff and then find a shady spot to savour the sea views.

What's included

All Inclusive • Buffet-style breakfast, lunch and dinner in your allocated restaurant • Selected drinks by the glass including bottled water, house wine, draught beer and a selection of cocktails and mocktails • Selected snacks • Wi-Fi • Full access to selected sports faclities including the gym, badminton and tennis courts, and beach volleyball.

Upgrade options

Premium All Inclusive • As All Inclusive, plus: • Selection of premium drinks • Bottle of sparkling wine on arrival • Minibar (water, soft drinks and canned beer refilled once daily) • 1 beach dinner • Signature 60-minute Balinese spa treatment at the spa once during a 5-night stay • Choice of 2 select excursions per 5-night stay • 2 themed party events • Special evening turn down service with chocolate on all nights of your stay.

Soothing Balinese treatments are available at the resort’s Chavana Spa by Mandara. Try out the traditional face and body treatments, especially the signature Mandara Massage performed by two therapists.

Cinnamon Dhonveli is close to a handful of well-known dive sites, and scuba diving is very popular. Book transport with a traditional Maldivian Dhoni to any of the 25 different dive sites for a spectacular underwater session. Or take a PADI course at the dive centre, Dive & Sail.

The resort allows a minimal number of surfers to enjoy its world-class surf break. It’s worth noting that we’re unable to arrange surfing holidays here and you won’t be able to arrange surfing once you arrive.

Cinnamon Dhonveli uses bio-degradable and discarded materials such as dry coconuts and damaged chipboards to create decor. The resort launched a coral propagation project in 2018 to create awareness of the importance of coral conservation through ongoing research activities and reef cleaning campaigns. To shift to renewable energy sources, a solar-diesel hybrid electricity generator plant has been installed. The resort harvests rainwater to reduce freshwater withdrawal.

The resort allows a very small number of surfers to enjoy its world-class surf break.

It’s worth noting that we’re unable to arrange surfing holidays here and you won’t be able to arrange any surfing once you arrive, but if you’re looking to take to the water we can recommend the local snorkelling and diving.

Minimum age 12 in Water Bungalows.

The Rehendhi bar, restaurant and pool are exclusively for Overwater Suite guests.

Guests in other room types can dine here but at a supplement.
