The sustainability initiatives at Varana are wide-ranging. For instance, locally sourced food to reduce the carbon footprint associated with transport. Varana strives for zero waste, sorting leftover vegetables and eggshells to make fertilizer and fermenting lemons and orange peel, making them into citric acid or a multi-purpose cleaner.

Varana prioritises reducing chemical usage in its hotel and has built its own laundry facility to ensure they have control over the process and minimize environmental impact, using organic detergents and water is recycled for watering its trees through its wastewater treatment system.

An innovative system is used to manage the water supply. The system stores clean water underground, keeping the soil moist and promoting tree growth while reducing wasteful irrigation. To ensure the safety and cleanliness of the water supply, a cutting-edge nanotechnology system is used to process all water used in the hotel.
