Glenross Living

Architectural forest hideaway

Whisk away to a remote and verdant sanctuary where a former colonial planter’s bungalow has been reimagined into a tranquil retreat.

Almost hidden in tropical foliage, shrouded by mist, and with a soundtrack of birdsong, Glenross Living is an away-from-it-all haven. Days are spent hiking through rubber plantations, searching out cinnamon and tea plants, and focusing on your physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. The manor house at the heart of the estate has been lovingly updated with modern and elegant finishes yet retains its Georgian windows and architectural features. A little away from the manor house, the stand-alone villas are altogether more modern and striking structures rising out of the hillside with private infinity pools jutting out to offer lucky residents a 180-degree panorama of the forested hills from the cool water.

Why we love Glenross Living

  • There’s a peacefulness to this pocket of Sri Lanka that effortlessly eases us into a tranquil mindset, with plenty on offer at the hotel to further foster a sense of relaxation

  • The heritage-meets-modern architecture is impressive, bringing the best of both worlds to create a stylish hideaway

  • There’s the opportunity to take part in a mindfulness programme to help manage stress and improve wellbeing

  • Angampora classes are offered, giving guests a glimpse into this ancient martial art that enhances strength, agility, and self-awareness
