The wilderness of Banff National Park might beckon, but inside Fairmont Banff Springs, guests will stumble upon a world of opulence and splendour. It’s a throwback to another era. Fairmont Banff Springs has been welcoming guests since 1888 and is placed in the optimum position for outdoor adventure. During summertime, there’s golfing and hiking. And when winter rolls around, there’s skiing, sledging, and snowboarding opportunities in abundance. Aside from taking in the Great Outdoors, throw a few balls down the hotel’s very own bowling alley, wind down in the enormous spa, take a dip in one of two heated pools, or shop at the hotel’s chic boutiques. A generous choice of bars and restaurants includes French, Italian, Bavarian, local Canadian specialities, and cosy afternoon teas. Rooms and suites are comfortable and contemporary, and with such impressive views outside, it’s worth upgrading to a mountain view room.
