Incredible family destination
Our family had a wonderful stay at this beautiful resort. Our two story beach villa with a private pool and two extremely large bathrooms was perfect for our three boys- spacious, luxurious, and comfortable for the five of us and our nanny. I loved having an abundance of glass bottles of filtered water in the room, the delicious & extensive breakfast buffets, a terrace swing, a terrace full of pillows in our villa to recline on and watch the sunset, and so many places situated around the resort to relax in a peaceful place. The service was outstanding, delivered with kindness and a smile throughout our stay. The private experiences we organized for just our family like fishing, a hike to Noi Bai (amazing!!), a sunset boat cruise, and an island hopping trip to snorkel & visit a fish farm will be lifetime happy family memories. The guides that accompanied us on these experiences took special care of my children, snorkeling with them, helping them safely navigate a strenuous hike through the jungle and boulders, putting more bait on their fishing poles repeatedly, etc. They even had a properly sized, comfortable life vest for my two year old. My boys loved riding our villa bikes around the resort, collecting chicken eggs, feeding the fish in the fountain pond, and a lovely tour through the resort’s abundant organic gardens. Free ice cream and was a happy bonus. We were impressed by the resort’s careful approach to sustainability, the sumptuous spa experiences, and are very grateful for what was a truly memorable stay. It was our first Six Senses resort experience & we would happily stay here again or at any of their other properties if they are anything like this special place. Thank you to all of the resort’s “hosts” who took such great care of our family.
Looks nice in photo's but very poor value
This was our first stay at a Six Senses property and we were really looking forward to it. The photo's looked amazing and we decided to book the highest category room - Water Pool Villa for six nights. The Room - We were put into room 304. It looks just like the photo's but what the photo's don't tell you is that the room is constantly hammered by the wind making it impossible to swim from the room into the ocean because the sea is too rough. When we asked to change rooms the first response from the hotel was 'its too windy, right?' They know these rooms are rubbish. Shame on them for selling them...and for selling them at a premium. We were moved to a Rock Pool Villa on the other side of the bay - much better. We were in room 2. Food - the food was totally overpriced as other reviewers have said. Its really poor quality and the worst part about it is there are very few Vietnamese options on the menu. Vietnam has some of the best food on the planet and to now showcase the local food was a real shame. The foods they did have were literally 500 times the value of what you can get in good restaurants in the city. Overall I would not recommend this property. There are lots of other great places around Vietnam, don't waste your money on this place.
This was my first ever Six Senses Resort, the brand has been on my list to visit for a while so I was pretty excited about this... The arrival is journey is good fun, you wait in a nice lounge whilst you luggage is loaded onto a speed boat for a quick 15 minute ride over to the main Bay. The arrival itself was spectacular as the resort does look very very nice and perched up onto a hillside with a nice beach below. Upon entering we noticed there is definitely a shabby chic element to this hotel. Bamboo and recycled materials but done luxuriously. If you are looking for pure opulence a la Four Seasons or Aman then maybe this is not for you but it is very nice and the facilities contain good amenities. The room itself was very large and had a number of areas, a bedroom, very large bathroom, outdoor shower, sundeck area and a living room with a large bed in the middle to relax in, a very eco friendly and well conceived room with dramatic views of the bay. The bed itself was a tiny bit small compared to what we we were spoilt with during the trip and the Air conditioning was sometimes a bit weak to the extent we asked an engineer to visit and make sure it was working at all. A nice surprise was that there were very cute monkeys outside of the room, this was a plus for us as they were friendly and playful but may not be for everyone. The Spa is fantastic and definitely a highlight of the resort, we went twice on our 4 days stay and enjoyed the treatment, there are also a number of private saunas and steam rooms to use prior to treatment, the spa is set up at the top of the hillside so offers lovely views of the bay. The why 4 start you ask? great room and great facilities and all? well I think food is the problem here and in honesty nearly made us give this place a 3 star. Let me divulge, There is only 1 restaurant here and the food menu is limited. After a very many number of days eating Vietnamese we fancies some simple Pizza and could not get this as apparently there is no oven upstairs? the menu is limited and the food we did order was not very good either. Since the resort is completely isolated there is no local option. We in fact ended up eating early at the beach bar to have this menu, they didn't actually offer to make us this food in the main restaurant which I thought was a bit poor. The breakfast wasn't very good either, the Pho was good but the rest was a bit limited, no Dim Sum either which is a but surprising in this part of the world and wondering who the main clientele are. There is a fantastic head Turkish head chef who tried his best to make us good food. We think he should be more creative and be allowed to impart his own flavours on the food. The staff however are what bought this review back to a 4 from a 3. We had Minh as our waiter and he was absolutely fantastic, a very well mannered and calm young man he looked after us and did whatever he could to make our stay pleasant including doing his best for our food. David at the restaurant was also very nice and we shared some amazing conversations together. The resort manager was also a very nice English gentlemen and made time to speak to us about our needs and concerns. Thank you and Kind Regards, Mr and Mrs Patel
High quality, rustic-style, eco-friendly, great service and excellent beach
This is our second visit to Six Senses Ninh Van Bay. The service was outstanding, especially our butler, Liam. The food was wonderful, and I appreciated that it was complemented by local craft beers such as Pastuer Street. The beach is clean and there are a lot of water activities available including water skiing, snorkeling, etc. The fact that this is in a bay and faces west towards the main coastline means that the water is protected and cleaner than it is elsewhere. The resort is very eco friendly and we enjoyed visiting the organic farm, our daughters selected eggs from the farm which were used in the breakfast, etc. I highly recommend this resort, including for families.
A fantastic vibe! Green, sustainable and incredibly relaxed....even the toilets were constructed with care. Food was fabulous and the General Manager made the time to spend some genuine time with us....would definitely recommend!
