Arrived 28th December 2019 until 6th January 2020 and enjoyed every single minute of this fabulous resort There is literally nothing we did not enjoy and would strongly recommend this resort The prices are very reasonable, the food and service is equal to many 5 or 6 star hotels we’ve stayed anywhere The town is within walking distance albeit there is a very busy dual carriageway to cross which (being Vietnam) can be a little hairy but not insurmountable.
The BEST in Nha Trang
We reviewed (TripAdvisor) everything in and out of Nha Trang. If you want the option of being able to walk into the city centre (10-15min walk) then this is the BEST option. It is on the beach, unlike the ever growing plethora of high rises sprouting like weeds everywhere in Nha Trang. Yes, it’s 22 years old but it got in first and secured the best location in the city centre. It’s all about location!!! It is now owned and operated by the Six Senses Group. This was our first time with this company and we found their philosophy towards staff and general service excellent. The staff were excellent from arrival to departure. We would particularly like to thank: Dinesh (sous chef) Nina at reception Thuy Executive Chef Thoa wait staff However, these were not the only ones to stand out. Our main tip for staying here is to book a room to the right of reception (looking out to sea). The only main concern with this resort (and it’s not the resort’s fault) is the encroachment of inappropriate tourist development surrounding the resort (and in the whole of Nha Trang). The left side of this excellent resort is now close to excessive night club music and day time guests from the high rise hotels that swarm down to the the beach beds supplied by each hotel. The right side is much more calm and private. The hotels outside of Nha Trang may be more modern (although Evason was very well maintained) but they are a 45 minute drive into the city. If this suits you fair enough. This is the best Nha Trang has to offer.
So much better that the high rise hotels nearby
The Ana Mandara has been classic in Nha Trang ever since it was introduced many years ago and it remains so. The setting is picturesque offering an oasis of relative calm in a beach city that is bustling and developing rapidly. Service and amenities are 5 stars. The hotel is eco friendly and has direct beach access in contrast to all other hotels in the city. Unfortunately, we were told it will be closed by next year and relocated to a site in Cam Ranh Bay. The new site is fine albeit far from downtown Nha Trang. So enjoy this old Ana Mandara while you can.
Relaxing by the sea
One stays in bungalows, located in a lush garden directly by the beach. Nice rooms with a terrace with chairs. The shower is out-doors (but protected). There are two pool areas with sunchairs as well as sunchairs on the beach. The beach is long. Here various hotels share the beach together with public beach areas. The water is clear. No ski-jets are aloud, which we appreciated. There are restaurants within the hotel, if you want to eat outside the hotel there are several within walking distance. The hotel is in a town so rooms close to the road might be noisy as well as rooms next to a nearby restaurant/night-club.
Oasis in the madness
In the middle of our trip we wanted a few days of doing nothing, we think we picked the right place. The beach villa was fantastic, we were literally on the beach and albeit people could walk past we felt save and waking up to the crashing of the waves is not something we experience very often in Evesham. The place was spotless if a little dated but everything worked and when we had one small issue in the great outside shower a workman was there within minutes to fix, after I got out of it of course.!!We indulged in the six senses spa, having a two for one deal with the beautiful one having a detox massage with myself having a hot stone one, so good we booked 2 more the following day. I can honestly say they are up there with the best I have had and I love a massage, this was my first 4 hand massage... go for it, it’s fantastic. The food wasn’t as good as you may find elsewhere and was more expensive then other nearby restaurants but the place was spotless and the staff were friendly, a special note breakfast was definitely better than average with a great choice. But people will come here for the beach and sea, you couldn’t get closer. The beach is clean, the beach beds were very good and the beach front pool fantastic. However, other than the spa and beach the staff make this place. Very friendly and genuinely interested in your visit. Glad we came...
