I was greeted by Theresa at both check in and check out, and she was very friendly and helpful! I stayed in a basic room (no fridge/microwave) and most hotel amenities were not available due to COVID. My chief complaint: bottled water was not easily accessible. Specifically, the vending machine on the 8th floor was sold out and complimentary water was not available in my room. With both the restaurant and gift shop closed, the vending machines should be well stocked at all times. But to be fair, I didn’t bring this to the attention of hotel staff because I was preoccupied during my stay. That said, I don’t think you should have to leave the hotel to purchase snacks or water at a decent price (COVID or not). Thankfully, I brought a water bottle with me so I was able to fill it at the water station located in the gym. The hotel is nice and in a great location; within walking distance to many shops, restaurants, and the metro.
Good Stay and rest.
My son and I took a road trip to a few states up in the north eastern area and on the way back decided to stop and stay at the hotel where we had stayed before when we were in the DC area. Folk's, This has always been a good place to stay as it is located close by to several restaraunts that are walking distance. However, due to the pandemic, the hotel and several businesses locally are not at full capacity. however, you can still go to a local bar and have a drink or eat. Folk's the streets were quiet, clean and no issues with protesters in the area and we felt god about our visit, so go by and stay and visit the are and you will be happy you did.
Our stayed was very nice. Thanks to Theresa Thomas😁😁😁😁😁 who really take care of our staying, and understood everything about how to give the best service at the Hilton Capitol Hilton in DC. She was compation, attentive, providing the best guest service, specially on this Covid pandemic. Also the cleanness in the hotel is great, the housekeeping team is amazing and compation as well😁😁😁😁😁.the Grab and Go team absolutely magnificent too😁😁😁😁😁. Only one thing i have to point and is the receptionist that checked us in on Saturday night was not as great as Theresa or the other teams; the recption team at night need more training in compation and service in Covid time, they don't wear uniform they tried no even make any kind of contact with the guest 😒 they are rude and not friendly at all. Though we know this is a difficult time but hotel and the teams need to understand whatever little business they get need to provide same level or better service as they used to be pre Covid, they need to make the guest feel comfortable and secure. I am Hilton member and never has experienced the disconnection that this night team provide....they don't make eye contact or smile with the eyes, I felt like this night time was trying to avoid as much they could with the protocol with the Covid. Theresa thank you for keeping the good name of Hilton in good standard, hope will see you again next time. take care and be safe.
Hotel receptionist with grace and professionalism
I want to applaud the manner in which Theresa Thomas handled two female guests who refused to properly wear their masks at the front desk. Theresa was gracious under pressure. These two women were disrespectful and made it known they did not care about the mask rule. Theresa handed them a mask and calmly reminded them of the rules. She was professional and firm, which these two women needed to hear. Well done Theresa!
Visit during Covid
This hotel exceeds expectations when you have to travel during covid. The hotel room was very clean. It is in the middle of dc by the White House so traveling around the city is very easy. Hilton is doing a great job making sure the rooms are sanitized before you arrive.
