The property is OUTSTANDING!! The rooms are huge, the lobby and public areas are modern, spacious, inviting and amazing. Piano player is enjoyable in the lobby area. The location is perfection, as it is near everything. However, I cannot recommend (nor will I return) due to the street drummer that bangs away for HOURS (Hourssssss). Called the front desk and the only solution was "he has to stop at 11pm". I requested ear plugs (and never received them). The drumming cannot be covered by TV volume and is extremely bothersome. I have an very early flight and needed to catch some sleep early - and that was just not going to happen. At check-in, via the app and at the desk, I requested a room specifically NOT on the "drummer" side of the property (not knowing where he was located) and the clerk placed me on the 15th floor, pretty much right above him (thank you check-in clerks). The 15th floor is the top floor - and trust me - sound flows UP - and it does not matter what floor you are on - if you are facing the City, you will hear the drums. Unfortunately, that one person ruins what is otherwise an outstanding property. Management needs to engage the City regarding his presence and level of noise - there has to be some sort of noise ordnance. For all City facing rooms, guest should be provided ear plugs (should not have to ask - since Management is aware of the drummer......should be proactive in providing noise abatement measures to your guests). Other than the drummer - perfection.
Drum Roll, Please
Stayed here 3 nights, room clean, nice layout. Quite attractive, upscale vibe. But there were several misses- all related to service and how situations can be handled better. Tried Italian restaurant for happy hour, quick dinner, solo. Sat at a high top table for 15 minutes- server said twice be right with you, and kept passing me by. Got up & left. Next morning, called for room service - needed quick bite prior to a conference next door. It was 6am, which was time on menu- was told we don’t open for another 30 minutes. So, went to Starbucks for quick coffee & breakfast sandwich- but ahhh, no luck- credit card machine down, and server couldn’t provide receipt. Went back to room & ordered $40 continental breakfast :) Final night, a Saturday, noticed what sounded like a concert out front. After quick walk to river front for dinner @ Las Canarias (wonderful by the way) passed the “concert.” A drummer with a complete drum kit & track playing... certainly talented. Back early, packing, could not believe how loud it was in my 12th floor room! I had a 5am Sunday flight- tried to get to sleep- but it was impossible. Had white noise app turned to max- no use. Called front desk, which must be common as the speech was prepared- “he has the right to assemble & play until 2am and sorry we are sold out.” WOW! I’ll keep that in mind- and hope you do too before picking a room, street side. Such a shame when an otherwise nice property is tainted with poor service.
Sheets on bed were horrible
Sheets were very crispy and I ended up with rash onmy face and neck from pillow case felt like a chemical burn took 3 days with aloe on to recover My hsband also noted this but he must have tougher skinthanI do
Nice hotel with great location on the Riverwalk. The Zocca restaurant was nice. Good pasta, Large portions good enough for sharing. Service was good. Our waiter was knowledgeable. Unfortunately, I forgot his name. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. I did have some issues with my bathroom sink in that it drained slowly. They probably need to clear the drains. Otherwise, all was good.
San Antonio River Walk Most cities lie next to bodies of water such as lakes, beaches or rivers, which attract dwellers and visitors but the Texan city San Antonio not only follows this rule but also uses San Antonio River as main city attraction. Imagine watching a narrow meandering canal with restaurants, bars and mariachi music at either side featuring a bright and lush Mexican-American culture. If you go to San Antonio and fail to visit its River Walk, you can't say you visited that city
