The staff was very friendly and the hotel history speaks for itself! Several members of the staff went above and beyond to help make our stay great! The hotel was also very clean and had appropriate procedures in place for covid. Felt very safe!
The Peabody is an experience that always lives up to its name and expectations!! Looking forward to visiting Memphis again and experiencing The Peabody. I really enjoyed the ducks and the Duckmaster and all The Peabody has to offer.
Very nice historic place
This is an icon in Memphis. With a lot of history to tell and some very cute ducks as a tradition, the hotel is a must place to go! It's all you expect from a great hotel, and it's a walk distance from the music bars turistic area.
The Peabody Hotel was my family’s 9th hotel in 14 consecutive days, coming home from a road trip to Colorado. We stayed in hotels from $70-$950 per night while gone. The Peabody was the worst of the 9. We had joining rooms-on the double bed side there was a dead cock roach in the bathroom. It had been there so long that other bugs had attempted to eat it. It wasn’t hidden in a corner....it was on the floor under the shower curtain. There was a pill bottle seal in the sink. I wonder if no one even cleaned the sink after the last guest left? We did notify management and received an apology....and nothing more. In the king bed room, I noticed there was only a sheet to cover with, but each bed in the double bed room had blankets under the sheet. I went to the closet to retrieve the king size blanket and the clear bag was unzipped with no blanket. Housekeeping did bring me one at my request. The staff at the front desk was very unfriendly. Barely even a hello. The halls of the hotel smelled horrible. It was a combination of a smoke smell and a musty smell. My family travels very very often but we will not return to the Peabody.
This is a destination you should't miss!
I had a short stay but the food was fantastic, the deli had such great desserts and teas - especially the little duck! I was able to get a massage at Feathers Spa and I am SO glad I did! It was amazing. I love the history and spent quite a while just touring the hotel itself. Don't miss the memorabilia room on the mezzanine level! I hope I can come back to stay longer. The stores are wonderful and there are so many good restaurants! (Though Chez Phillipe was closed the day I was there)
