Run down and dirty
Unfortunately after 4 business trips (my company, not me required me to stay here) I would not recommend this property. Hallways dirty with carpet and trash cans not being emptied, used dirty towels left hanging on back of bathroom door, phones that don’t work in the room, alarm clock that can’t be plugged in, dirty wallpaper peeling in room and bathroom, rust on towel rack, dirty floor in room and behind bed table and desk. See enclosed photos. Credit card hold at front desk for Incidentals took three weeks to be taken off my credit card account
Walked Away From Rudeness and a Run Down Look
My wife and I recently took a long drivin trip and pre-booked several hotels. This was the only one that required pre-payment. We made better time than expected on the road and arrived a little early, about 45 minutes, for our stay at this one. After checking two men in ahead of us, the clerk informed us we’d have to wait to check in at 3 p.m., check-in time. She didn’t ask if we had a reservation and was dismissive. She offered no friendly suggestions, apologies or anything. Just a flat check-in is at 3 p.m. As we stepped aside to contemplate how we were going to pass an hour downtown with nowhere to park or sit, a van with people in airline uniforms arrived, and the clerk welcomed them with open arms. It appeared the hotel cared more about what must have been contracted guests than average travelers, though I’m not sure why the first men we saw were treated better than we were. They were casually dressed. Maybe they also were part of some preferred program. The treatment, the general appearance of the place including the jagged front drive and the fact that staff weren’t wearing masks as COVID newly surged, made us decide to walk away and eat the pre-paid cost. We went right across the street to the Sheraton where we were greeted for starters by friendly parking attendants in masks. We were immediately provided a room even though we had no reservations there and were welcomed pleasantly by each and every staffer, all masked. My advice is to avoid the Crowne Plaza if you’re an average guest. Leave them to their preferred customers. Customer service even in difficult COVID times is lacking or directed at the hotel’s standing guests. The owners need to refurbish and improve all around and provide staff. Few pointers on courtesy if they have to ask guests to wait. Hospitality Industry 101.
Unsanitized no service
We visit there from 7:12 to 7:16 one of the worst hotels that I have visited it started off we met a young fellow at the front desk at 8:00 a.m. he was beautiful pleasant sad to say he couldn't work every shift ever since then everything went downhill from our first night over the alarm went off overnight it was a false alarm everyone had to clear out and go outside we couldn't get a hotel room clean they wouldn't deliver us towels we had to chase them down to get towns they didn't even change that bed sheets not only that when I will go into the room to get ice the cleaning service had left glass in the pound in the middle no sign warning us to watch out the hotel service was terrible I do not recommend for anyone to stay there they will not clean your rooms they will not deliver you towels that we couldn't even get in toilet paper from them I wouldn't even rate this hotel one star
This was my first time to the lovely Memphis Tennessee. I must say I wasn't disappointed the check- in was fast & easy the staff was very kind. Everything you need Crown plaza offers. A pool, bar & restaurant, and shuttle service to and from Beale street. I will definitely be returning and would recommend.
Hotel location is great to walk around
Location is great. Hotel is older but still ok. Breakfast costs $10 per person. On check out morning, housing knocked on our door at 8:00 and again at 9:30 asking if we were checking out. The person knocking was holding a list of rooms which probably had checkouts already on it.
