This was a great experience! Perfect location. The bed and pillows were super comfy. Room was clean. Overall, the hotel could use some ‘freshening up’ as it’s an old building. We really enjoyed the bikes, great coffee, and pop during happy hour. Besides sprucing up, wish the pool was heated. The secret garden is a Gem. Outstanding customer service. ElRico, Nautica, Rodney and DeShawn were awesome. Becky is a peach concierge! Well done Kimpton, we’ll be back!
This hotel needs all the help.. it was not a true boutique experience. Many dogs makes it loud, and much fur covered carpet in the stairways. It is on a busy street with many semis and dump trucks, which isn’t their fault for the location but something to keep in mind when wanting a quiet stay. We upgraded to a suite but still had no balcony which was a bummer. One member of our party called the front desk to get more toilet paper and was told it wasn’t a full service hotel and to come get it herself. They ended up giving her a food credit for the trouble. No water available if the restaurant was closed, no vending machine, no food or snack option for when restaurant was as closed. They seemed to conveniently “close the pool area during to impending storm” on a Sunday morning during all the housekeeping turnovers. There was no storm on any weather channel coming and one never did. This was a bummer as we wanted to lay by the pool before checking out. Pool needed much attention as well, always a shortage of towels, looks of debris floating in the pool, no Umbrellas if you want any shade. Many of our groups rooms were musty smelling.. it seems every room needs a dehumidifier. very sparse staff as well with long check in and check out lines. Overall I would not stay here again.
This is a kennel
This is not a hotel, but a kennel. Dogs barked nonstop. Our floor smelled of wet dog and fur was everywhere. This hotel is filthy. Further, our room was dirty, the phone didn’t work, nor the blinds, nor the shower. It is a dump. Don’t waste your money.
Not a boutique experience
This was our first trip to Savannah and can't wait to go back but would stay at another hotel as there are so many options!! I love the Kimpton in Milwaukee, WI and thought that this would provide that same experience of a boutique hotel. I have to say I am a linens snob and was surprised that there are no fitted sheets for the mattress. There was a flat sheet wrapped around the mattress and as anyone would experience as soon as you move around that comes undone and you are on top of a gross mattress. For the blanket/down there was no duvet cover, there was a flat sheet on top and on bottom. When those did not stay together you were touching a gross blanket that I am sure others had touched as well. there were very few pillows for a king size bed. When I asked for additional pillows we were told that they just ran out of them. The water pressure was low and made all sorts of noises when running and overall the hotel looked run down and dirty. I really really wanted to like this place but overall was disappointed but it was a great location.
Hotel was disappointing, but Bartenders were delightful
We checked in on a Wednesday and out on Saturday. The room ws not cleaned properly. The fridge was dirty, the bathroom floor was dirty and the shampoo dispenser had someone's black hair on it. I had stayed here in 2017 and chose this hotel because I remembered it as a positive experience. That said, two of the bartenders we encountered were delightful, Brooke was there every night we were and the last night Santi the last night. We thoroughly enjoyed our encounters with both of these delightful people.
