Disappointing Front Desk Service
We ordered a pizza from a nearby restaurant. I expected the front desk to call us and let us know it had arrived, they did not call. Our pizza was sitting down in the lobby for at least 15 minutes. By the time we received it, it was cold. As for the amenities, there is no microwave or fridge in our room, so we weren't even able to heat up our pizza. We are extremely disappointed in the quality of the TV reception as well.
Amazing reprieve from the real world
We've stayed at the Warwick 3 times. This was our first time back in 2 years. Obviously staying during covid was a unique experience but the customer service here is second to none. While it's an older building, the staff make up for the lack of modern features. We checked in and we completely forgot that an older building would shut their AC off in the winter and switch to heat. My partner is asthmatic and needs the room cold. We didn't have a city view, but rather a regular room, which faced a brick wall so we couldn't get air. Vilma at the front desk was so kind and patient with us. She moved us to a street view so we could get a crisp breeze and keep the room chilly. Everyone from the bellman to the housekeeping crew was smiling and doing their best to make NYC feel magical in the midst of covid. I can't say enough about Vilma though. She was one of the most patient and empathetic people I've ever met in hospitality. We are already planning our spring trip in March and can't wait to come back. They also did a great job with Christmas decorations. Everything was impeccable and it really helped us refresh and reset from the hellish year. 10/10
Covid safety concerns
I stayed at the Warwick in NYC in October 2020 and unfortunately had a terrible experience. Upon entering I noticed a large ugly stain on the floor in the hallway of my room. I'm not sure what it was (blood? mud? vomit?) but it's right in front of the door and bathroom so a constant reminder of an unclean room. In the bathroom I immediately noticed and reported that the toilet seat and toilet cover were sopping wet all over. I had to wipe them down with a towel. The toilet ran continuously -- and the dripping noise kept me up at night. On the second day, the faucet handle fell off and I was no longer able to run cold water in the sink. I sent several emails to Larry, a manager but he never replied. I also tried calling guest services. It goes to voicemail. I finally spoke to someone and requested help from a manager but received none. When I booked the room, I was told that nobody enters the rooms including housekeeping in order to maintain Covid health and safety protocols. Despite this, upon returning one afternoon, I noticed someone had been in my bathroom. I did not authorize entry and was not aware someone would be entering my bathroom. Whoever it was may not have been wearing a mask or gloves, exposing my personal belongings to their germs. So if you want to stay in a clean, safe, sanitized hotel in NYC, with access to running water in the sink and a functional toilet, I'd have to advise against staying at the Warwick.
Warwick is not just for tourists..locals who live here, love it! Quaint village, lovely town with great scenery, things to do, wineries, creameries, restaurants, craft beers, playgrounds, apple orchards..lots of farms and markets.. A definite go to..
Got a very good because of location mostly.
The price was good, the location is FANTASTIC, the room was 'okay' but not awful - took quick note of fraying lampshades and other unsightly elements in the room but all in all it wasn't an offensive room by any means either.
