Got a very good because of location mostly.
The price was good, the location is FANTASTIC, the room was 'okay' but not awful - took quick note of fraying lampshades and other unsightly elements in the room but all in all it wasn't an offensive room by any means either.
Comfortable, family-friendly, classy hotel
we spend a lot of time in NYC because my daughter has medical appointments there often. The Ronald McDonald house is out for me after spotting a dark gray "mouse" running under a stove in one of the kitchens! Yuck. I know there are critters in NYC, I just don't want to see them where my food is prepared. Warwick New York was a great choice for this trip. The location is easy access to everything, across from MoMA, walking distance to Central Park. The hotel is clean and pays attention to social distancing rules. Restaurants are slowly opening up again and we enjoyed delivery of coffee and pancakes from the restaurant kitty-corner across the street, Astro restaurant. Didn't have the chance to do any exploring, but hopefully we will soon, once things get back to "normal." The people that work at are Warwick New York are super nice and accommodating. Housekeeping came early in the morning, and I asked them to come back after 2 pm, and they did! It's so nice to come back to a clean room Warwick New York the beds made. Definitely will put this in our top 3 hotels in the city.
Terrible Customer Service
We booked with the Warwick well before COVID started for the end if August. For the past couple months we have been requesting a refund as we the border is still closed and we could no longer make our trip. The hotel declined to refund us multiple times. To decline a refund during a global pandemic is incredibly shady and greedy. All the other hotels we booked for the year refunded us immediately with no issue. That's not even the worst part. I looked up reviews of the Warwick to see if others had had issues with refunds and found out THE HOTEL IS CLOSED by other reviewers! So not only were they declining our refund requests, but if we had somehow managed to get to New York we wouldn't have had a place to stay when we showed up. The hotel fully knew they were closed when we requested our refund for not being able to travel over the border, but I guess they were hoping we wouldn't notice they are actually closed so they could keep our money. We called the hotel out on the fact that they were actually going to be closed for our trip and told them we would be talking to our credit card company if they chose not to refund us. They finally refunded us. We were planning to re-book with the Warwick for all of our future trips to New York but due to their less than honest communication with us and their greed we will not be booking with them in the future. I am seriously disgusted.
Warwick is Closed!
Made reservations on the hotel website. it made not mention of the fact it is closed. I even received an email confirmation of the reservation along with a reservation number. When I arrived it was closed. No answer at the front desk and no message stating it is closed. Very very poor performance.
A Great Place to Stay
We have been staying at The Warwick for approx. five years, each time we visit NY. It is in an excellent location with walking to Central Park, 5th Ave, Times Square, shopping and numerous subway stations. The hotel is the perfect size of not too large and impersonal and not too small. It has character and is cosy when the NY temperature drops. Our last visit was in February which we enjoyed having had a not great experience in November 2019 (although this was at an extremely busy time with NY Marathon on). It was good to see that the level of service was again high in February, the lift was fixed and the overall experience was positive. The rooms have not changed in the time that we've been visiting and they could do with a freshen up but it is still our hotel of choice when in NY.
