Our favorite NYC Hotel
Great Hotel. clean, modern with a warm and good atmosphere Great staff. From the front-desk to the cleaning staff. They all gave their warmest smiles and walked that extra mile to make our stay great. Great location. At the center of our favorite part of NYC. Already look forward to our next stay!
Tiny, noisy, over-hyped.
Have had consistently great experiences at Standard properties. This one however, is full of quirks -- an elevator that can take a long time to wait for, paper-thin walls, noise from adjacent closets used constantly by cleaning staff -- one of the worst NYC hotel experiences. Smallest rooms, even by NYC standards.
Went to see a great Play, romantic dinner and an excellent overnight trip to New York from Long Island.
What a great Room and the view was amazing, clean, neat, everything you could want. Toured the entire hotel and bar with staff that seamlessly handed us off from one thing to the next. It was so nice. I can’t wait to do it again. We had dinner in nearby little Italy. Breakfast at Katz’s Delicatessen. Toured St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Mass. Great night sleep. Great nice Shower! Fantastic Trip from anywhere. Ron
Birthday Done Right
Hi. I recently stayed at the Standard EV for what was supposed to be one night, but without hesitation extended to two, thanks to the killer time and stellar service provided. The location speaks for itself, it's the East Village of NYC, literally, everything is at your fingertips. The design of the hotel is gorgeous (tip: the staircase to the sub lobby restrooms is very 'instagrammable'), the food & beverage outlets are superb, and the staff is always around to greet you with a smile. My room itself (a corner king, maybe?) was beautifully configured. Yes, a tad small, compared to the suites at an all-inclusive resort in Cancun (THIS IS NY PEOPLE, we don't have space!) but like I said, smart and cozy design. Housekeeping was fantastic. Quick and friendly! I must say my stay was absolutely made thanks to the front office team. Someone caught wind that it was my birthday, and without requesting a thing I was upgraded and given a lovely birthday amenity. Sometimes, it's just that little extra touch that really makes a hotel home. A very special shoutout to David Burgos, the overnight manager. He was incredibly charming and always made us laugh when returning to the hotel after our adventurous evenings. He really went out of his way to make sure my friends and I were comfortable and had the best time. Much love standard EV, I will be back! :)
