A rocky start but an amazing finish.
Our trip started off a little rocky. We were assigned a room that had clearly not been cleaned. There was even a mask left hanging on the door to the bathroom. After a visit to the front desk, this was quickly resolved and we were assigned a new room. In the era of COVID-19 that was a terrible first impression but I hope housekeeping was alerted so that doesn't happen again. The second room we were assigned was super clean and sanitized. Even the remote was in a plastic covering. I appreciate that detail because remotes are definitely a high touchpoint item. We had to wonderful meals at Amatista Cookhouse. Lunch was amazing as was our server Lydia. She was attentive, courteous, funny, and served our food in a contactless way that made us feel super safe. The following morning we had breakfast and it, again, was spectacular. Every item was fresh, cooked to order, and the drinks were amazing as well. We also enjoyed the pool 2 days of our 5 day trip. It was clean, plenty of space, and very chill. We were able to enjoy a few drinks by the pool as well as meet some new "pool friends". The water temperature was EXCELLENT. They had plenty of clean towels and never ran out. The pool is also open until 11pm each night so we came back later and it was even better with the sun gone down. Overall, we had an amazing stay and can't wait to do it again. I felt complete safe and comfortable. All guests acknowledged the required face coverings and hotel staff was quick to ask anyone not following the rules to please comply. Thank you for an awesome experience and staycation!
Wonderful 3 night stay.
COVID has changed the way hotels/resort accommodations their guest. This resort had a temp check every day and you wore a wrist band (different color daily) mask were mandatory throughout. Our room choice was pool view. The resort was not offering housekeeping at this time, because of COVID. The room was comfy and the beds gave us 3 great nights of sleep. Nice size room with plenty of drawer and closet space. There had a small frig and coffee maker, a large shower-toilet with a separate sink area. There was also Drhum Club Kantine which was located by the pool. I have a few great drinks and appetizers by the pool throughout our stay. New Dutch Trading Co. offered items like coffees, pastries, chips, candies, sandwiches, etc...Rooms service is available (we did not use this). The pool area was so relaxing and had a nice tropical feel, even areas with sand. At one end of the pool, there was a water slide and a hot tub. The food and drink service was great around the pool and loved the pampering from the staff! They had plenty of lifeguards and always on their toes. Heading to the parks was so easy...complimentary water taxi to City Walk, Universal Studios, Island of Adventure you are only minutes away. At the time we were there, masks are mandatory throughout all of Universal Property. Resorts, transportation/water taxi, and at the parks. We did have a rental car..parking was $26 a day.his was a last-minute location, our travel plans kept on getting changed 😞.
This wasn’t my first stay at Loews. However, it was my first stay during a pandemic. I applaud the organization for all their safety measures. I felt very safe. Other guests were abiding by the regulations and if you accidentally forgot to put your mask on before entering, they would kindly remind you. If I didn’t know better, I’d also say the elevators even only go to one destination as the doors never opened to let another party in. The staff were amazingly friendly. I don’t know how they did it, but it was my husband’s birthday and folks went out of their way to tell him Happy Birthday. I attempted several surprises but with COVID-19, room celebrations were not allowed. Yet, they found ways to say, “I heard it was someone’s birthday” around areas of the resort. That touch is what makes me go back to Loews again and again. Even more so now with the care they took regarding COVID-19 for the guest as well as their staff.
Felt safe every day of our stay. Great service from all team members. Rooms are clean. Easy to get to the parks with the boats. Good options for food on site, especially Amatista. Would not hesitate to stay here again!
A day in the park
I met uo with friends from South Florida. We spent the day at the parks then stayed overnight at Sapphire Falls. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. There is a boat and walking path to the parks. We are passholders and know our way around Universal, but if you don’t, the staff at the hotel and the parks are very helpful. The entire resort is practicing social distancing, temperature taking, mask wearing, and sanitizing. You will feel very safe!
