4th of July: Weekend at Universal
With a four star price at the Loews Royal Pacific Resort, the four star experience was greatly lacking. The facility although clean, seemed rather run down (matted carpets, peeling paint, older looking decor). The main bar was closed while other “like” hotels were open. There were not enough staff members available to maintain the few areas that were open. On a bright note- The food at the outside pool cafe’ was tasty and the water taxi provided a quick ride over to the parks; however, in the future, we’ll save some money and stay off property at a real four star hotel. I wasn’t impressed.
Stayed here as a family of four and had a fantastic time. Rooms were clean, bright and spacious enough for 4 people, lots of suitcases and a wheelchair. Staff were friendly. The pool area was beautifully kept. The boat ride to the park was a great feature for hotel guests and the express passes were fab. I really wish I could remember the name of the man at reception who checked us in because he went above and beyond! The only disappointing thing about it was the breakfast with the minions... It was a massive let down. Very poor selection for breakfast and then having to share a table with strangers was just uncomfortable especially for the price you pay. I would recommend staying in this hotel to anyone but don't waste you money on the minions breakfast...
My family stayed at the Club Level at Loews Royal Pacific Resort June 22-28, 2020. There were technically 3 adults (myself, husband, and 18 year old daughter) as well as a 16 year old son. I debated upgrading to Club Level because we are a teetotaling family and my travel agent said that the included alcohol is where you really get your money's worth out of the additional expense. I am happy to say that we were thrilled with the continental breakfast every morning, the afternoon snacks made for perfect lunches (Uncrustable sandwiches, assorted chips, granola bars, fruit, and peanut butter crackers), dinner (hors d'oeuvres, but plenty for us to make a good meal (even the 18 year old vegetarian was pleased), and evening sweets (large cookies and the best brownies we've had anywhere) were a delicious way to end each day. We made it back to the resort daily for lunch after spending the morning at the parks, and with the parks closing early making it back for the evening hors d'oeuvres was easy. Which leads me to one of the perks of Royal Pacific: it's so close to Universal Studio, Islands of Adventure, and City Walk that going back for a break from the Florida heat isn't a big deal, and neither is returning after that break. The included Express Passes had us absolutely spoiled and I'm not sure that I would want to go back to the parks without it, even with reduced capacity it was nice to nearly walk right on to most rides, when the regular lines were between 15 and 30 minutes (our experience Tuesday through Thursday, Friday was much busier). The Express Pass is what sold me on staying at a premier resort and was definitely a worthwhile perk. The resort itself is gorgeous, but the staff is really what made our stay so memorable. The ladies working the Club Level Lounge in Tower 3 were absolutely delightful and attentive to our needs. And it wasn't just there, either; from our check-in at 1:30 am until we collected our suitcases from Luggage Services before catching our Uber, we experienced nothing but true hospitality. We didn't mind not having daily housekeeping, it was easy enough to text to request fresh towels or to have our trash emptied, and it was actually kind of nice to know that no one else was going into our room while we were out. This was a once in a lifetime trip celebrating our Harry Potter lovig daughter's high school graduation, but I'd book again at Loews Royal Pacific Resort in a heartbeat.
Service not at all in line with the price
3rd and final time I will stay at this hotel. Poor experience began at check in, where I was the only person in line but it still took about 15 minutes to be checked in, despite 4 clerks on duty. After getting to the room, found the bathroom door laying on the floor and completely unusable. Hotel was quick to fix, but still not acceptable for a hotel of this caliber. BIGGEST reason though I do not recommend this property, is the time that they cost my family's vacation. Wait times at check in and at the bar were unacceptable but nothing compared to restaurant waits. One of the biggest perks of this site is the express passes for the park (no problems here) and the priority seating at city walk restaurants. Honestly, these are the 2 biggest reasons I stay here. Come to find, city walk no longer honors the priority seating, costing hours of lost wait time for my vacation. What makes things worse, is when I politely made the hotel aware of this it was dismissed as not their problem. Not at all the level of service I expect from a high quality resort. Save your family hundreds of dollars and stay at an equally nice hotel on I-drive. Even with purchasing express passes out of pocket, you will still come out way on top.
Wonderful Family Vacation
Wonderful experience from check in to check out! Everything was so clean! Plenty of help when you needed it and everyone was so friendly. Loved how close it was to the amusement parks! You could walk, take a boat taxi or bus! Will definitely recommend Loews!
