Rude front desk clerk, did not stay due to this
I called just for a couple of questions. The girl who answered at 11am on 7/11 is very unprofessional, rude, and has a super terrible attitude. Made me feel like I was a huge bother for two questions. Huffing and puffing. Chose a different hotel in the area. Thank you though. Maybe another time.
AMAZING HOTEL AND STAFF
Clean, airy rooms. Comfy beds, clean bathroom area. Staff are super friendly, always ready to help. Buffet breakfast is full of great food - everything from cereals to pancakes, eggs, bacon, yogurt cups, fresh fruit .......... Something for everyone, and if you don't see it, just ask ! Pool area is awesome, great (prior) snake slide (Safari days) Pool\play area for kids is great, easy access in and out of water. 2 hot tub areas. Good bar with excellent staff. And the afternoon "pool" parties are great. Olive Garden, KFC, Pizza Hut - all across the street from Hotel. Red Lobster, Uno Pizza, MacDonalds, Dennys and a few others just a few minutes walk south of the Hotel. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.
Worst front desk/check in ever
This is my 11th year of Platinum or higher with Sheraton and now Marriott. In that time, I’ve been in many hotel, in many countries, and under many circumstances. I’m giving this stay 2 stars only because of the difficulties associated with the coronavirus. I understand things are difficult, but this was unacceptable. Check in started fine, Melanie thanked me for my loyalty, and gave me a sheet explaining what was going on at the hotel. I asked a few questions, and took my keys and headed to the room. I get there and it’s the wrong room type- a king bed, no couch, and I have 4 people- I head back down and explain that I have the wrong room type. Her answer “that because the other building is closed”, ok, so maybe I can get adjoining rooms, or something because this isn’t going to work. I don’t mind getting upgraded, but I can’t do a downgrade! She repeats the other building is closed, and that she gave me a sheet. I explain that nothing on the sheets says anything about room types or buildings being closed. She goes to get the sheet and says “it says we have limited housekeeping”..... I’m totally dumbstruck. Finally another worker comes over and asks what is going on- she explains that I “want another room”.... I pulled up my reservation and showed him what I booked and said “only what I paid for”. He goes to find a room, and “see if they have one”. While he is gone, I asked Melanie “what happens if he doesn’t find one?” She replies “he keeps looking”. At this point I have had enough, I ask for a manager, and she replies that she is the manager on duty- I asked for the GMs business card and will he addressing it by email. I’ve had bad people, ride people, great people, really all kinds- but never someone openly and aggressively attacking a customer- No offer to help move rooms, and it was a long walk with a lot of luggage. No one sorry for anything, and lastly no welcome gift.
Could not have been worse
I don’t know where to start how bad this hotel has been. After 25 yrs of staying right on Disney property, I had high expectations. We were sorely let down, big time. Upon check in (I had booked reservation with Hotwire, never had an issue) and the clerk states my name is under a duplicate reservation and that I have to call Hotwire to resolve? I had received one and only reserv from Hotwire. Got on the phone after check in and ONE HOUR later, I’m stuck on the phone. Turns out it was not a Hotwire issue at all. An hour wasted of my vacation, not happy. Entering the room: dark hairs were in the sink, a loud squeaky bathroom door, shower fixtures hanging off the wall, moldy shower curtain and gross stains are covering the carpeting. Disgusting. Then, we decide to try out the pool. We are greeted with LOUD, absolutely awful screeching music. What are they thinking that pool guests would like this to relax?? Once the music attendant left, we actually enjoyed the lounge music behind us for a few minutes. It is clear as day, this dated “motel” is not a 4 star rating, more like 1 star if that. AVOID at all cost. And if you’re booking thru Hotwire, buyer beware. I love Hotwire and has never let me down, but this deception of 4 stars will cause me to never use them in Orlando again. We are stuck here for 3 nights, just awful. Traffic noise in the room is atrocious!
I enjoyed staying there but the parking for $21 is way too much. As a Bonvoy member, I would have hoped it's free to park. Other than that it was a pleasure to stay there. The front desk was helpful and polite.
