One night stay before cruise
I stayed at the Surfcomber for one night before departing on a cruise from Miami. This hotel is in a nice location, right on the beach, and in walking distance to all of South Beach Miami, including many restaurants with outdoor seating. I especially enjoyed the pool, excellent drinks, and loaner bikes to ride on the bike path right behind the hotel. They have a nightly wine and snacks hour (free for guests) and free coffee in the lobby in the morning. The lobby is fun and eclectic. The rooms are comfortable and large. Lots of palm trees on the property. Nikola at front desk was very helpful and all the staff were pleasant and welcoming. I would stay here again.
Turn down the noise level. We are staying here a week. I would have loved to give this hotel the five it deserves. However for some reason they think that this older professional crowd would like to have rap music blasted at them all day. We are not college students looking to party we want a relaxing vacation. Turn down the music I don’t know why the staff keeps blasting it All that being said this is a lovely hotel. The pool is beautiful with direct access to the beach the staff is lovely. The food is good. The rooms are a little outdated and on the small side but if you don’t mind that and the constant loud music this is a perfect place to stay
Well demetrius was the bomb dot com he was tha thing tha thang!!!!! He took great care of us we had a great time on a day bed on the beach. Hope to come back soon!!!! Ready to come back with friends!!
Pre-Cruise Stay (2 nights total)
Kimpton is now an IHG hotel an so my expectations of IHG hotels are pretty high, having stayed in them exclusively for the points for a few years. I stayed at the Surcomber for 2 nights prior to a cruise and it is a great little boutique hotel. It's a really great location on the beach, has a wonderful beach bar, a fabulous pool area and close to a lot of fun. The room on the 2nd floor for my pre-cruise stay was really nice - beds were comfortable and the room was clean. It was a great stay. The one night on my return was very loud, there was a service closet next to my room and the hotel service staff were loud. There were several knocks on my door and that particular night was not great. That day, however, on the beach, was amazing. The beach staff, Trey, was fabulous and the waitress was attentive. All and all I would recommend this hotel. The major disappointment was there was no coffee in the rooms. You have to go to the lobby for coffee in the morning if you don't want to pay $5/cup for room service coffee. The only drawback. Food is really good at the restaurant as well.
Excellent Experience in Miami Beach!
This is only the second Kimpton property I have stayed at, but I was completely blown away with the differences from my last stay (in another unnamed city). This property is only about three floors, but the rooms are fairly large and spacious. You have easy beach, pool, shopping and sight seeing access from the location. The staff as a whole was extremely, friendly, and welcoming even if I did look a haggard after a long day on the road. The beds are comfortable and even with all of the noise outside of the hotel I was able to get a quiet night of sleep. The beach facilities excellent and there is a service fee attached to the bill that covers two chairs/towel service on the beach. The pool/staff at the beach was great in getting us situated on the beach which why quiet and not overly crowded. I would definitely recommend the Surfcomber Hotel to anyone planning a trip to Miami.
