The Hotel didn't hold up to any of their promises made at booking. Such as: an Adjoining room that we requested well ahead of time, since we were traveling w/baby, a crib for the baby which I had pre-arranged, but didn't get, a BeachView (we got a dirty wall view) $50 a day parking fee, Surprise! I guess that was in the small print, but was never mentioned at the time I made the reservation! We were also were never given clean towels, until I had to go down to the Front Desk and ask for them. Were we supposed to use the same towels all week? When I addressed these issues to the Front Desk, he replied "That must have been the 3rd party you booked with," which is a total Lie, since I made that reservation directly with the Surfcomber Hotel reservation line, which was confirmed by Guest Relations, who also did nothing! Very disappointing! Let's see if Ivanna Gonzalez, the front desk manager, responds to my email! Very poor Customer Service! I Wish I can go on! Terrible customer service!
Would definitely recommend the Kimpton! From solo to family, friends, couples, this place is for everyone. Very friendly staff, great pool areas, great music! Beach staff was also very lovely! Shout out to Paul, markel, Robert, and PJ. They were very accommodating with our group. Would love to stay here again!
Zumba with Carla
By far one of the best zumba classes I’ve ever attended to. Carla had me moving and sweating like no other class! I came with my husband on this trip and after the class, I felt hot and sexy! Her energy was contagious and she was a great motivation. Would definitely recommend the class!
I’m confused by the $36.00/$41.00 per room daily “resort fee” when we couldn’t even get housekeeping to clean our two rooms once during a 6 night stay. I’m also confused by $27.00 drink prices and automatic 20% gratuity added to absolutely anything and everything. Automatic gratuities ensure lazy bare minimum service.
Worth the Resort Fees
As a person who works in the hotel industry, this resort is it! Instead of staying at a more well-known property and brand decided to stay here all because of what my resort fees actually covered. As you can see by the pictures this place is beautiful, great location. Resort fees are a VERY tricky way for hotels to add fees. However, Kimpton Surfcomber is one I felt was actually worth it. Daily resort activities, carefully curated during Covid showed safety precautions this place took to make guests feel great. Not to mention that I went during one of the years coldest nights. And because of those resort fees, I was provided a movie night with popcorn in the hotel lobby. Bike rentals are available. My beach attendant Andre was beyond gracious and helpful about the rules on property. He even suggested we get a bed instead of the standard chair. I had a great time doing yoga with the instructor, I’m sorry I forgot her name but she was great! The private cabanas are beautiful, and a nice way to enjoy friends and family with a little privacy. The music played from this property and the next in the evening time with the lights make this an enjoyable resort. I was even able to meet a few folks from Pennsylvania doing the same thing. As we played connect four and enjoy cocktails by the fire pit. Kimpton Surfcomber, thank you so much for making my Covid getaway trip worth it despite everything. I can’t wait to come back and visit! 🤎KD
