As good as you’d expect from Curio
Another fantastic Curio property. I hit as many of these as I can wherever I am. Great restaurant. My kids especially both enjoyed perfectly cooked filet mignon. As a Reach guest you also have full access to Casa Marina (Waldorf Astoria) and we ate breakfast there one morning. Both restaurant breakfasts were excellent but I’d have to give the nod to Casa Marina if I had to only choose one. Grounds are immaculately kept and service was first rate. My only complaint, and it’s so minor that I hesitate to mention it, is the water pressure in my shower (rm 336) was only adequate. The gold standard for Hilton property showers is the Conrad NYC. That thing is the bomb and this wasn’t that. Like I said a minor deal. Otherwise I’d stay here again in a heartbeat.
Solid Resort! Stop looking!
Very nice Resort... Team Members provide A+ service and you genuinely receive a warm reception. Hotel is doing very well with COVID-19 protocol and managing the stress while keeping safe. The natural sand beach is AWESOME! The easy (2 block) walk to Casa Marina is a must do... You can use Casa's amenities. Location is incredible... Just over 1 mile to any top hot spots. Under a mile will get you to Hemingway's House (do it!), CVS, and Ana's Cuban Cafe (so good)! I see reviews on rust... Not within the room, but occasionally seen in public areas. Please keep in mind this is common for ocean front resorts. The rooms are practically new and in great condition. I read reviews on small bathrooms... I'm 6'7" and a husky guy. No issues for me and the same as the French Quarter in New Orleans, New York City, or any hotspot. Bathroom was very nice and the shower was great. Overall, I give a top score and encourage you to stay... Very peaceful.
Nice days in Key West
We end here our vacation in the Key’s the Reach is a nice Hotel with a nice private beach excellent Breakfast and friendly employees. Our room was big and with a balcony what I liked the best then by night you hear the waves through your open sliding door. We will be back !!
Really Nice Find...Have no idea why ranked so low
We spend three nights here and had just a wonderful experience. First, in Key West most of the hotels are not on the beach and this one is. The rooms are nicely appointed and most of them appear to have balconies facing the beach and the property's location is wonderful. Second, the staff here is well trained, attentive and just seemed to be good people. We used the digital key (nice feature) so we didn't have to check in but on occasion when we needed something everyone had a great attitude. I bumped into an attendant one morning about 6:30 and he was just as happy to be there as I was....which just starts your day off well. Also, I don't think I ever saw an associate without a mask on. Lastly, the restaurant option is outstanding (will review later too) and looks right over the ocean. We had three meals there (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and all were outstanding. Our server for dinner (Daniel I believe) was knowledge and attentive. I had to go the rest room and thought my wife had paid for dinner (which she had not) and he had to track me down at the chess field (way cool) to sign...we had a good laugh. We don't travel as much now (Covid) but this experience made me miss traveling all the more.
5-Night Anniversary Stay
We arrived New Years Day for a 5-night stay to celebrate our anniversary. In our opinion we splurged a bit for a king ocean view room, but upon arrival we were given a room in the back corner of the courtyard with an obstructed view (parking lot & trees). Additionally, there was a kids movie playing on a large screen in the courtyard, which would have been fine but the sound was so loud that even with balcony door shut it was impossible to tune out. Hold on, there is a happy ending! When we explained to the front desk that this was a special trip for us and the room didn’t meet our expectations, Morgan quickly arranged to move us to a premier ocean view room the next day, and stayed in contact with us via text throughout the next morning to make sure we had a smooth transition. After this initial hiccup our stay was both wonderful and memorable. The beach area and staff were incredibly attentive, and breakfasts at the Four Marlins restaurant were top-notch. The credit card holds (6 in 5 days) were a little annoying, it seemed like every time we charged something to the room, as little as $8, a new hold would post on our card. This was all sorted at checkout, but seemed a bit excessive. Also, a note for the hotel staff, each day at the beach we observed multiple people (I’m guessing not guests) jump the beach fence on the west end of the beach and then blend into the crowd. I’m not sure what the rules are, some places all beaches are public, but this seemed a little sketchy to us. Overall, great property and a location that’s hard to beat.
