My nephew got married on the property. I brought my 3 kids, wife and 2 young grandchildren with me. I asked for adjoining rooms and the 3 we got shared a large balcony. All the hotel staff were great, lots of smiles and good services in all areas. The beach was big enough for our large extended family and plenty of water toys to play with. We especially liked the 3 pools. I'd go back in a second.
Gorgeous views with a few issues
First time staying here vs the Ritz. The views are awesome, rooms updated and the staff is WONDERFUL! (shout out to Valet, Cornell, LOVED HIM). And I mean, ALL staff from front desk, gift shop, hostesses, Housekeeping, room service..all. They were always smiling, saying good morning, can we help you...the best staff ever!! Baleen dinner was superb, gift shop was nice and beach staff was great. The grounds were pretty and loved the koi ponds. Most of these ranked higher than The Ritz. The exercise facility was adequate and we used it daily. There is a safe in the room for valuables. The beds are very comfortable and we loved the look of the lobby. Not so great was the soaking tub/shower combo which the tub stood taller than my knee so getting in and out was honestly extremely dangerous. I hit my foot multiple times on the top metal rail for the shower doors. I’m pretty fit and in shape but only 5’3” and hated that tub. I prefer large walk in showers, plus the shower and sink drains slow so you stand in a bit of water. The 12th floor is NOISY due to housekeeping closet door outside our room slamming shut even as late as 11:45 pm plus being an outdoor concept, the wheels on carts across the concrete was very loud. No room service until 7:00 am means no coffee unless you use the Keurig in the room, which is fine the first morning. But due to the fact Housekeeping didn’t replenish water, snacks or anything after cleaning the room, we were left with no water after? The hotel would make even more money by restocking ALL items in the room during every cleaning. We had to call room service for more water. The Ritz hands down is better with this. Also the first night I guess the chiller went out on their AC which all rooms run on the same unit (not good). Our room was 75° and after a day in the sun and 91° that day, it was way too hot in the room. I’ve been told this is a reoccurring issue with the La Playa and although it was fixed and cooled down before we went to sleep, they really need to look into this outdated issue. We would stay here again mainly due to the staff and being so close to the beach. But, even with updates, it still shows its age compared to The Ritz. If you do stay here, do NOT get a room with a soaking tub unless you truly want to take a bath and avoid the 12th floor or at least get a room far away from the elevators.
Great short stay whilst in Florida
Excellent hotel - rooms superb would highly recommend even number rooms in the block over the street on floor 5 or 6 for the views. Beach facilities very good and service from beach attendants superb.
Great get away!
Our first time to Naples and our first visit to this resort and it was great! Everyone at the hotel was very friendly from the minute we arrived to our departure. We were always addressed anytime we walked into a main area or even in the hallway and everyone was more than accomodating to any of our needs. The grounds are well kept, clean and very relaxing and enjoyable.
