The Hotel was unable to coordinate tranportation for the 5 days we stayed, we were on our own
The rooms are expensive, there are better choices in the area. We were not able to get transportation for the entire length of our stay. No Cabs, No Uber, No Help from the Hotel. The staff was incompetent in helping and were left without confirmed rides (from people hotel recommended) and NO COMMUNICATION about the difficulties of getting on and off the Island.
Great overnight stay
Only there for a night. Great location and views. Hotel is on the beach and you are set up for a nice vacation. Only one night is too short so plan to stay for a few nights or a week. Pool seemed crowded but that is expected. Overall great place to vacation
Great 2 night stay
We had a really nice stay while we were in clearwater beach. The proximity to the beach is fantastic. The beach out front of the hotel is excellent, it was very easy to get a cabana and they were not too expensive, $40 for a full day at a cabana with 2 chairs or $30 for an umbrella with chairs. The water was fantastic and my young kids were able to play in the water and on the beach comfortably. Towels were provided by the hotel. Very walkable to tons of restaurants and shopping. The front desk even sent us a bottle of champaign when they heard it was our wedding anniversary. We are planning on coming back to this hotel for another stay with my parents.
First, the Hyatt is in a great location and because of that can charge a bit of a premium. Unfortunately, this hotel charges way too much for what you get. We rented a premium room with a kitchenette, a balcony, and the water view for 6 nights. The room was very large but furnished and decorated austerely. The kitchen materials were also scant. Don't plan on trying to cook much of anything here. There's a frying pan and a small sauce pan and a few dishes to eat off of. And as we used those dishes, the staff would take them away and by the time we left our dish and utensil selection dwindled. The most irritating thing, however, was the room service. They never re-supplied, toilet paper (never left a spare), tissues, soap, body soap and frequently would not replenish wash cloths or the shower mat. It was so bizarre! Each day we would get back to our room and have to call down to the front desk to have certain things delivered. I stopped tipping after a few days as this was really annoying and poor service. It really was unacceptable for a hotel room that cost over $420/night (closer to $500 with all the fees). Finally, be warned that the elevators here are painfully slow. You will spend a lot of time waiting for elevators. On a positive note, every staff person we encountered was very friendly and positive. I would not recommend this hotel unless you got some deal in the $200-$275 range.
Did not get what I paid for!
Booked a last minute trip to Clearwater and agreed to the 600+ nightly rate. In part because the hotel is on the beach, Hyatt is a trusted name, it was a holiday weekend and the room had a full-sized fridge, stove, and microwave. I wouldn't consider myself "picky", but I did not expect a dirty shower. There was hair on the tile walls as if a man had tapped a razor off while shaving. Also, it looked like the tile had not been cleaned for a while. It was grimy. I ended up cleaning it myself because when I asked the hotel to attend to it, they said they would send someone up but never did. A second issue was that the posted maximum rate for the room I was in was 609.00. When I asked the hotel manager to honor that, she smuggly said that she wouldn't. I was charged 659.00/night plus an additional 50/night security deposit which was refunded. They also don't tell you that there is a 25/night parking charge. The bottom line is that it seemed like they were understaffed and I didn't get what I paid for. It was maybe worth 300/night [cleaned].
