Worst Vacation Ever
This hotel did NOT live up to its expectation at all. The room was decent, however, it seemed the entire staff was very hands off and not helpful. This was the most expensive hotel I've ever stayed at and the worst at the same time. There were not many guests present, however, the guests there were screaming off their balconies, smoking tremendous amount of weed on their balconies, and throwing huge parties. There must not be security on hand to attend to the issues with other guests. The beach is overcrowded and no one follows the 6ft rule. Staff only tells certain guests to wear their masks and doesn't seem to enforce limited people on the elevators. The $15 cheese burger at the SHOR was inedible and had freezer burn. The restaurant manager didn't seem to care at all that the food could not be consumed, she comp'd the burgers but made us pay for our sodas. You also have to walk across the street to get to the beach, not terrible, but I feel this was falsely advertised. There are better hotels in the area for better rates, please shop around!!
A Paradise from the Pandemic
Beautiful, very clean resort and amazing staff! From the moment we checked in, we were welcomed a smile and a refreshing drink. Our experience during our 5 night stays was noting short of perfect! From our amazing room, we could see the pool and the ocean. Food was excellent from every restaurant! Room service was prompt and food was hot and fresh. The location of this resort is also perfect, you simply walk out the door and your on the beach! Highly recommenced and cannot wait till we can go back!
Phenomenal Customer Service and Beautiful Hotel
My entire experience with this hotel stay was phenomenal. Nathalie from Germany at the front desk went above and beyond in every aspect to ensure we had the best experience possible. Lizzie at the pool was attentive to us and ensured our drinks were always filled. Everyone even down to housekeeping was so kind and helpful! I talked to Stephanie and told her how amazing her team was and I will definitely be coming back as soon as I can!
Beautiful resort with downfalls.
We were pleasantly surprised when we initially entered the resort. The service walking in was impeccable. Our 2 bedroom suite was gorgeous and roomy upon first sight. We had a full size kitchen and ordered groceries to fill it. As we stayed longer we noticed the following things. PROS: - Resort is gorgeous. Views are gorgeous. - Rooms are clean, spacious, and comfortable. Our 2 bedroom suite had 3 large bathrooms. The master suite is gorgeous and the bathroom is like a spa. - Beds are super comfortable. Even the couch in the living room was perfect for our daughter. - Service is great. Pretty much anything you need, someone will bring to your room at no charge (tipping appreciated of course) We needed items out of our car, ice from the machine, extra coffee cups, anything.. They brought it all. - The pool has a great view of Pier60, the ocean, and sunsets. - The food at the pool and hotel restaurant was great. - The hotel provides you with beach/pool towels in two separate locations. This was a great surprise. CONS: - The beach is definitely not private, and though they don't advertise it as so, they also don't advertise that the hotel parking deck is used for public parking for access to the beach. It is EXTREMELY crowded, mostly with for rent cabanas at $30-$40 a day (until 5pm) These are not included in the resort. If you choose to bring a tent/umbrella/chairs of your own, plan to get up very early to take your spot and hope that you're not asked to move due to the rental companies. - The beach is alcohol free. We were not aware of this, and while this may not matter to some, we do enjoy having cold beer while lounging on the beach. - Due to COVID19, our kitchen was completely empty. When we called for some supplies, they brought up 1 pot, 1 pan, 1 bowl/plate per person and 1 set of forks/knives/spoons. There were no kitchen towels, rags, mixing bowls, cups, glasses, etc. While I understand the precaution, if I'm asking for supplies I think you should stock the kitchen fully. Or give some kind of checklist to list what you need. - We called for housekeeping because we were out of linens. They never came until we called again. - The kitchen was falling apart. The cabinets were falling off the frame, the dishwasher was missing wheels on the racks. The ice maker had to be worked on twice. - The restaurants, while good, were both VERY Expensive. - You were not allowed coolers at the pool. While they said this was a food and alcohol license issue, I really believe it was to encourage people to only purchase drinks from the pool bar. When I mentioned that they didn't have the drinks we wanted, they offered to get them from the market for us, and keep them at the pool bar for purchase, of course at an up-charge. They did offer to give us some complimentary for 1 day, but we already had them in our room. We just wanted to have them cold at the pool. We opted to just go upstairs each time and get a new drink to bring down. (For some reason, this was allowed) - The pool was TINY for the size of the hotel and was very crowded. Do not expect to be able to social distance in the pool. - And while the hotel isn't focused on social distancing in the pool, they do not allow you to move lounge chairs at all, even if you are gathering as a family. They say this is to allow for social distancing. All in all, the resort was nice. The service was amazing. I would not go back again simply because I prefer less crowd and more freedom to enjoy my vacation without spending so much on hotel food. Supposedly, the resort was only at 40% occupancy. I would HATE to see what it was like at higher rates and I'm not sure how you'd even enjoy the areas of the resort.
Stayed here several times and never disappointed! Beautiful hotel with well appointed rooms. The grounds are immaculate. All dining options are excellent- good food and service. The entire staff is friendly, helpful, and courteous.
