I would not recommend this hotel for anyone. It is dirty, noisy, food is terrible. The elevators did not work and we walked 6 floors to get around the hotel. The porch door did not shut in room 658. All night we heard yelling, fighting and obscene language with my 3 young grandchildren in the room. Birds flew down on our tables and ate the breakfast which was disgusting. We left and went elsewhere for breakfast. Booked the weekend an left after one night. Stay away, worst experience in Hilton property in the last 20 years. It was no Diamond.
I was very excited to visit this hotel after viewing the pictures of this beautiful beach. I had never stayed at a Hilton resort, not even as a Diamond member so I gave this a try. I must say, I gave this property several chances because I was “iffy” on staying here. I found a reasonable price and was assigned an accessible room and was treated poorly and dismissive on the phone because of this - I state it was because of this since they kept repeating what I paid a night (almost $300 usd which is inexpensive for what they charge) and emphasized they cant change my accessible room. I figured Id take anything but a handicap accessible room so they can use that for the elderly or someone that would need it more. They stated for $200 more a night I can get a standard room which was ridiculous because by upgrading ONLINE via Hilton’s email it was only charging me $25. Either way, I wrote a long email to the GM, Carlos, explaining the situation and called twice with voicemails and never received a response. When I arrived, I was greeted by John who thankfully was nicer than those I spoke to over the phone in guest services and gave me another room. All in all, the resort fee is ridiculous... the hotel nickel and dimes you for anything and the service was not the best. I personally will not return due to those reasons .... the only pros about this property was the lovely beach and pool. Please do not respond to this review and forward my comments to management because clearly they dont care about what we have to say.
The Hilton of horror
I would not recommend this hotel for people who have any expectations. The rooms were small and mediocre. None of the outlets worked in the room, I had to go into the hall to blow dry my hair. There was an extension cord hanging out of the wall next to the bed instead of an outlet. Perks are the shower was ok, bed was relatively comfy, and the proximity to the beach. Make sure to back your debit card. A tap beer is $9, and to get a cabana and chairs in the beach it’s about $100 per day. We wont be coming back. This morning we were checking out there were a group of teenage boys in the courtyard area passed out from the night before with their hands down their pants. It was 9:00 am and management hasn’t asked them to leave.
Not up to Hilton Standards
If you're expecting a hotel that adheres to its COVID policies, you're going to want to choose another property. After one afternoon at the property, we approached a manager to point out the posted mask policy and asked about the hotel's enforcement efforts. We were told that hotel "can't enforce" the policy. I have photos from the lobby, elevators and other public areas of the flagrant disregard for CDC, Pinellas County and Hilton Policy. I've shared them with Hilton directly as well. Hilton should be mortified.
A mixed visit.
My 17 year old daughter and I decided to plan a last min trip for her Spring Break. I’ve stayed in this hotel several times and always had a pleasant experience. This time was more mixed...the hotel, especially the rooms are definitely in need of a Reno. It’s looking tired. Clearwater beach is still lovely and the sunsets are stunning every night. Just be prepared to spend somewhere btw $100-$200 each day to get chairs and shade on the beach. The pool was so crowded that they had a wait list in the afternoon to get chairs. All of our interactions with the staff were positive...I have few complaints about the overall service, except for trying to order food by the pool which took forever. However, my biggest complaint has to do with the clientele. It was incredibly frustrating to walk thru the lobby or get on an elevator ( which were very crowded because 1 of them was broken the entire week), and see half of the people wearing no masks and sometimes no shoes. While there were a few signs in the hotel saying masks were required inside, there was zero enforcement of the rule. Also, as we were there during Easter week, the hotel was swarming with teenagers who were loud and partying late at night. I suppose I should have tempered my expectations knowing that the hotel was very crowded, but I won’t rush to stay here again, especially during the pandemic.
