When we arrived it took 2 calls, to get our bags to our room and the wrongs one were delivered. We finally recieved them an hour later. The hotel is in a great location but we had to call every day to get clean towels, toilet paper ect. Our room was not cleaned in the three days we stayed. The bathrooms by the pool area was discusting to say the least.
Great location, thumb nose at loyalty
Let’s start with the good. Fantastic location on one of the best beaches in the country. Very clean and well kept grounds. Two nice pool areas that lead to the hotel beach area. Also a nice tiki bar on the beach. The valet staff and tiki bar staff were all welcoming and nice. For the room, the bed was very comfortable and great pillows. The balcony was clean with a nice view, but uncomfortable chairs. The bad. Value to price is way off. I feel that we way overpaid for what we received. Older property and it feels it. Rooms are small and bathrooms are tiny. Stains and other signs of age, and given the price not acceptable. Earned Hilton Diamond status, not even recognized. No upgrade, no complimentary breakfast, not even a warm welcome. I’d suggest the guest services manager visit a couple places I’d recommend and see how you welcome guests. Under the pretense of COVID response, Diamond breakfast benefit not provided, and housekeeping only every three days. Yet best I can tell I paid full price. If you’re going to cut back services it should reflect somewhere. I didn’t feel like anyone at the front desk appreciated the business at all. This is a property at a great location that will do business because of it. But they will never get my business back. Understanding that adjustments need to be made to business in these times... it should have been communicated by email prior to arriving, so we could decide if we wanted to stay or not. A welcome email did arrive 3 days prior, but did not outline how some services would not be honored or available. I should have paid more attention to the negative reviews here, as they are generally spot on. The ridiculous resort fee right now really provides no added benefit for the average guest. This property totally fails to live up to Hilton brand standards. As a Hilton Diamond, I would not return and it colors my opinion of the brand that they even flag this property. Final note... we booked a Gulf and pier view room. Great view. Do not book a city view, you will regret it.
Disappointed with stay
After looking forward to a much needed weekend, I am sad to say this hotel did not live up to the price or my expectations. The rooms are pretty outdated. Our first room still had someone else’s trash left on the balcony and a chipped door where the fridge it. You pay for a gulf view but the first room (944?) was primarily looking out to the main road. If you walked on your balcony and looked over to the right then you would see it. (They should not be selling these as gulf views, it should be partial). They offered us another room on top floor but had two doubles and I booked a king. Their last room available was on the 5th floor, this gulf was straight ahead this time but you are literally above a huge row of AC units ruining your view. Since we had no other options we took this. There was no amenities in the room, which was not fun to find out when I went to wash my hands there was no soap... great. They then sent up a trash bag with amenities in it and left it on the counter. I am a gold member and was hoping some of breakfast would be complimentary, but it wasn’t. They do not offer self parking prices. Even though we parked the car ourselves and unloaded it, we will still charged $25 for valet. The location of the hotel is great, but the service, rooms, view, and stay was less than impressive. I love Hilton hence why I own the annual fee card so that I can enjoy staying on points, but this wasn’t worth the points and I wish I hadn’t wasted them. Service failures all around and after the first room I felt like things weren’t properly cleaned to standards. :(
What a DUMP!
I'm sure I've already left a 1-star review, but if not here is another. The room had paint peeling an extension cord running under the carpet. stained ceiling tiles. The room was filthy and very dated. I could go on about the issues and the poor restaurant there, but trust me this place should be priced at $89 a night, not $200+. The floor to the building was uneven and unsafe. We looked out our window and saw a beautiful new hotel right on the beach. I sais I wish I had known there was a nicer hotel before I booked the "Hilton." So guess what, we are staying this week at the new (and similar priced) Wyndham Grand hotel I've stayed at many Hiltons and this hotel is a disgrace to the Hilton brand. Just to be clear we stay here last year at this time, but never again.
Very disappointed in room cleanliness
I went to visit my cousin in Clearwater last week. Decided to spend one night on the beach at this hotel. We didn’t get to our room till around 11 pm because we spent most of the day on the beach and stuff. Went back to shower and sleep I then noticed hair all over the shower floor and black marks all over the sheets. Called the front desk after three times they answered offering to moves us at 12 am! I requested a refund and call from the manager. Which I’ve still not received! I expected more from this chain
