Great stay off the beaten path
Was in town for October weekend wedding. While there my sister and I had a blast! The front desk staff and the bell hops were a joy! I want to say thank you to them all. So friendly! They were just outstanding. The housekeeping was also a joy! Friendly and kept our room very nice and tidy (we were in #733 first weekend of October). Everyone there was just grand! Also have to say it was so great to learn about the history of the hotel! And to be able to leave our bags on the last day so wee can explore the city since our flight was late in the day was a bonus. The room was great. Sure it isn’t brand new, but the character of the hotel is why we chose it. Thee location and the architecture. Across from the Drake was a bonus, and walking distance to so many things (fyi great breakfast places are the Rosebud and Sunnyside Cafe on Rush St). Water pressure and having a rains shower was terrific, soft towels a soft bed, and no noise from outside was a bonus too. We never watched any tv, too many things to do in town (architect boat tour was recommended by the door man and that was awesome). So to sum things up, great hotel, great staff, lots of character and yes would recommend.
HORRIBLE FRONT DESK THE NIGHT we checked in!!!
the front desk person ( guy) said YOUR CARD WAS DECLINED! i was like thats impossible ( i happen to have gotten paid this day so card was fine) he goes it was DECLINED TWICE. then when i left sunday, he CHARGED MY CARD TWICE one for $308.00 , the other one for $253.00 i have called front desk and business office, NOBODY HAS RETURNED MY CALLS. its been one week and the charge is still there in my card. VERY DISCRIMINATORY and states that they are busy because of a wedding on sept 25 2021.. so does that mean you treat all REGULAR CUSTOMERS poorly just because theres a wedding????
Pretty Hotel; Nasty Front Desk
We booked two nights to attend a wedding. Half an hour before we were to board a shuttle bus to the church, the front desk informed us that we has reserved only one night. The manager threatened, "You have 30 minutes to dress, pack, and get out or I'll call security." (We learned others in the wedding party were turned away on the first night of their reservation because it was "missing.") After we were kicked out, we learned that we were billed for the 2 nights we booked. No calls to management have been returned. Staff incompetence is exceeded only by their rudeness and discourtesy. Avoid the place except to peek in.
Very difficult check in and no parking
This hotel has no parking! Bellman was very unhelpful when pulling up said there is no valet - had to lug all luggage in by myself with no one asking if i need help or offering a cart-husband had to drive 1 mile and park with a herniated disc. I asked a male worker if i could leave my bags to the side while i was in a 20 minute check in line and he said “sure” i said can you help me ?? Anyway very poor experience so far.
Wouldn’t stay here again
I was very disappointed in the Millennium Hotel. I appreciate the historical aspect of the building but some modern conveniences would have been nice. There were no vending machines, bar, or restaurant in the hotel. The hotel was under staffed given it was a holiday weekend. The location was the best thing. Everything was within walking distance.
