Fantastic 4th of July Weekend!
Once we arrived checking in was efficient and easy. We stayed in the Superior Double Room. The room was spacious and very clean. My favorite feature in the room was the ceiling shower head. The hotel followed Covid-19 protocols with guest wearing mask, providing hand sanitizer, adhering to physical distancing, and allowing limited guest to use the elevator at once . Jason, the manager, professionalism and attentiveness was superb! He wanted us to have the best experience at the Millennium Knickerbocker! This was an amazing location to relax and explore the great city of Chicago!
Inconvenient & Lack cleanliness.
There wasn’t a microwave in the room or in the lobby. The biggest problem was the room was not fully cleaning. We found a dirty sock underneath the chairs and we found underwear underneath our bedding.
Before the stay even commenced, I had three employees tell me three different things. One said I could check in early with no fee, another said I have to pay for a FULL night, the last one said they cannot do an early check in at all. I don’t expect to be treated as if I’m special, but it became confusing when I arrived at 4am to an employee telling me I have to pay for a full night when I received a different answer previously. The stay over all went well once we went out and did not have to interact with the employees, but from first impressions it felt like there was no communication or care about giving guest the correct information. As said previously, the hotel is just fine. The staff can be hit or miss.
Great location and nice hotel
My husband and I stayed here on our trip around Canada and the US, I loved Chicago especially the river running thru the middle, even on the coldest wettest days there, I just wanted to go out and explore. The hotel (although they didn't advertise it) catered for gluten free, in fact you pretty much ask for what you want. They made great omelettes although if you asked they did scrambled or poached eggs too. There is a little food store on site, with a microwave so you can heat shop bought food, a cafe etc. Some floors had little areas you could sit in for a break from your room, it was clean and tidy and the doorman and bag handlers were very helpful (just make sure you let the bag man carry your bag he stresses out if you don't) although he was very helpful and once in our room with our bags he gave a complete run down of the hotel and the area
Really nice hotel
This was the first hotel that we stayed in during our three city trip through the US, and we found it a very good base for the two nights that we were in town before moving onto our next destination. It had such a quaint and unique feeling about it, with well-appointed rooms. The room was a good size, and we made it a real home from home during our stay. The staff were great and attended to our every needs with professionalism and attentiveness. We never ate in the hotel, so cannot comment on the food. The WiFi was fast and free, which was a real bonus with us being thousands of miles from England during a pandemic, and wanting to stay in close touch with our family at home. We would definitely stay here again, and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone visiting Chicago.
