Experience San Francisco beyond the bridge
So you’ve ticked off Alcatraz, Fisherman’s Wharf and have hopped around San Francisco on a cable car, but what’s beyond the Golden Gate Bridge? These full day experiences will help you find out.
Head for the hills
An early start from San Francisco will take you on a four-hour drive east to Yosemite, one of the country’s oldest national parks. High in the High Sierra Nevada mountains, known for its granite cliffs and domes, waterfalls, giant Sequoia trees and meadows, our guide will take you on a two-hour walking tour to witness the Bridalveil Falls, El Capitan, Inspiration Point, Half Dome and the famous Yosemite Falls, best seen in the spring and summer months.
California is well-known for its wine-producing regions and our Wine Lover’s Tour will take you out of the city on a drive past a stunning patchwork of vineyards and olive groves to the rolling hills of Sonoma or Napa Valley. With the advice of an expert guide, you can choose where to visit and how long to spend there, visiting wineries, enjoying tastings and learning about the history of California’s wine-making.
An hour outside of San Francisco, you’ll find Muir Woods, where you can wander beneath these spectacular and towering redwoods – some stretching to 78 metres tall. We’ll then take you to Sonoma, a beautiful town lined with historic buildings, where the surroundings are considered to be the birthplace of the California wine industry. Here you can enjoy tastings and join a unique winery cave tour before returning to the city via the Golden Gate Bridge.
