BEST full service hotel in greater PS!
By far the best hotel in PS, recent renovations are amazing, not only are the common areas extremely upscale, but the rooms are beautifully done as well. Pool and jacuzzi, gym are fantastic, food is great, everything about this property is A+, especially the great staff the GM has put together. Specific shout outs to Mayra, Peter and Josef, all terrific!
A great overall experience
We had a great experience at this property staying for 4 days and it exceeded our expectations. Our rooms were updated, clean and generally well laid out. The pool area is as advertised in the pictures , and the location is perfect for Palm Springs. Also , even though the hotel was sold out , they recognized our Bonvoy status and we generally felt appreciated. Now there are some things I have to get used to in this new world such as no room cleaning, but what I found most annoying was a sign at the breakfast that said you were entitled to 1 drink and 1 pastry. Luckily they did not enforce this rule, but it seemed out of place since you can obviously get better at a Fairfield inn without status. But overall we loved this property.
COVID insensitive and unsafe
Covid waiting to happen! The entire city and Marriott advertise this place as super safe regarding Covid because masks are required everywhere for everyone. A bunch of hotel staff and a ton of hotel guests are walking around everywhere without masks. Asked at the desk and they said their obligation ends e the One sign at the door. Wow!
Just stayed for two night. We made reservations based on the pictures seen of the pool. It was really expansive, as was the pool deck. Service was a bit spotty, but I will chalk that up to Covid staffing issues. The hotel lobby was gorgeous. I was less impressed with the room (a junior suite). Strange layout with the bathroom located between sitting area and bedroom, which means the sitting area gets no natural light. There was not enough storage for 2, let alone the 4 that could easily fit in suite. The in-room safe did not work. The location was quite good as well, within an easy walk to all PS has to offer.
Relaxing Place to Stay
My bestie, Dominic, and I met up in Palm Springs for his birthday after not having seen each other in over 2 years (he now lives in Las Vegas; I live in San Francisco) due to the pandemic lockdown. We wanted to just do a lot of catching up and ... relax. We found the best place for it! I personally have not stayed at a lot of Renaissance hotels. We picked this place because of the photos on the Marriott site/app. It looked like it had a lot of different areas where you could just lounge and relax. This place delivered! We pretty much hung out and relaxed in many different parts (both outdoors and indoor; day and night) of this hotel. It really was very comfortable wherever we decided to just sit down, have a glass of wine or a cup of coffee, snack, or breakfast. Lounging by the pool was awesome. It's a big pool area. The pool itself is big, and there is a hot tub just a few steps away. Hotel is in a good location. It is very close to Palm Canyon drive where many restaurants are located. Hotel is clean everywhere. Room is clean. Bed is comfortable. I would say one of the best parts of our stay is the staff. They are quite friendly in this hotel. Peter at the front desk took good care of us and made sure we were happy and comfortable during our stay. DJ always greeted us with s smile (with mask on, we could tell through her eyes and her authenticity in talking with us) whenever we saw her in the lobby area. Overall, a very good stay for us. We would definitely consider staying here again next time we go to Palm Springs.
