We just returned from our second trip to El Encanto, and it is officially our new "place" to go. It is so charming and quiet, and every staff member we've dealt with has been sincere, friendly, and helpful. They accept pets so it was also very nice to bring our pup with us both visits. She enjoyed her time and was treated so well by everyone, including our waiter at the restaurant who brought a dog bed over for her during breakfast! Our only criticisms are: 1) it's annoying that they charge a valet fee when there is no other option but valet (no on-street parking or parking lot) 2) the pet fee has increased considerably in the past year (from $40 a stay to $150 a stay) 3) the dining room dinner and lunch menus could use better options - after a so-so dinner there last time, this time we ordered delivery from a different restaurant in Montecito instead 4) the "basic" rooms are a bit dark and bland but the rooms with a terrace/fireplace, etc. are incredible. Definitely upgrade if you go. 5) the pool is small (which we love) but some guests dominate the space. Especially during Covid, it's shocking how selfish people can be. I think the hotel should consider a 3 hour time limit or something (similar to what restaurants are doing) because otherwise there is a chance you won't get to swim. For over $1000 a night that feels unacceptable. 6) additionally, we have been to the pool during times when people absolutely let their children run wild there. Scooters in the pool, back flips into the pool, screaming at the top of their lungs, splashing other guests. I am not opposed to kids having fun and I actually really love kid friendly places but since we can't count on parents to monitor, I wish the hotel would do a better job of making sure other guests have a nice experience also.
Wow what a magnificent property and the service and the setting are just exceptional, really nice rooms very comfortable beds and the pool is just amazing with a stunning view, the food goes well with the place and they have a really nice Wine List. It is a heavenly place to relax and enjoy.
TURNED 50 HERE AND THE BELMOND & ITS STAFF IS UNMATCHED!!!!
I spent my 50th birthday weekend here in 2020, March 8th, a week before lockdown. I am a constant traveler and have been all over the country and world over the last 30 years. I have NEVER had such a consistently splendid experience as I did at The Belmond El Encanto. I had to get back there for my 51st in 2021...my spirit needed it and perhaps my sanity too. Everyone from the bussers in the huge open air restaurant overlooking the Pacific to the managers in the front and back offices treated me as if I was the only guest at the hotel. Others at the free and flowing morning yoga classes felt the same way. Special thank you to the thoughtful and caring managers NICK and WILL!!! You gave me an experience I will neeeeeed to repeat year after year. JAZZ at the restaurant is a goddess. The grounds are gorgeous and the milennial employees give the whole generation a better name than they have in relationship top customer service!!! I can't wait to get back. Thank you to Erica, Deliah, Kevin, Andy, Landon and Jerico. SEE YOU SOOOOOOOOOON. God willing... =)
Hotel El Encanto
The hotel and property were beautiful and immaculate. Rooms are lovely, lots of windows and intoxicating aroma in the room. Great bath lighting and shower. Nice products / amenities. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
I stay for a night to celebrate my birthday and it was such a great experience! I came with my boyfriend and dog. This is such a dog friendly hotel and the staff was really welcoming of my dog. They even had a dog bed, bowl and cute note for my dog. When I got to my room I had a birthday gift that included a bottle of wine, charcuterie board, Champagne, and chocolates, this was such a cute gift from the general manager! We stayed in a garden suite and it was a nice private room. The patio in the back was really big and they had a heater placed there for us. The heated bathroom tiles was a nice touch as well as the gas fire place. We enjoyed room service and breakfast in our back patio. The food we order was really good the best thing was the tuna tartar, so good that we ordered it twice. We had my birthday dinner at their restaurant and the server Kelly was the best. She was so attentive and engaging. I also used their gym, there was no one there when I used it and it was really clean. When it was time to check out I called the front desk and they sent a bellman and had my car pulled up to valet. Literally 5 minutes later, Landon (the bellman) came and got my bags and placed them in my car. He made leaving such a beautiful place pretty seamless. After he placed my things in my car he also offered to get me water on my car ride home, such a nice last touch. Overall, I had such a great time!
