A much needed break in a beautiful hotel
All you can ask for in an all inclusive hotel. I am not very experienced in the all inclusive deals but Rixos Gocek sure convinced me to consider all inclusive for my next trip (when I can take one again). From the quality of the food in the all the restaurants (tested all of them) to the quality of the staff serving; it was faultless. To all there in Gocek Rixos, thank you for making the only holiday I was able to take in 2020 one that I will remember!
Beautiful scenery and devoted personnel
This hotel is hidden from the main road and is very peaceful. The scenery is great as well as all the activities and amenities available to guests. I would also like to highlight the staff that makes it super easy to relax and not give a second thought about basic and necessary stuff. The People’s restaurant is a bit pricey but is totally worth it, the dishes are intricately crafted and are served very quickly. We have met an amazing waiter Engin who made it his priority to make our evenings memorable and warm. Making a cosy fireplace and serving us treats on that we wouldn’t otherwise try has made it a truly unique experience. This is exactly what we needed at the end of 2020! Thank you Rixos!)))
Not what we signed up for when we booked!
My son and I decided to take a late break for some sun before the winter. We were looking for an adult only resort with multiple restaurants and bars. I always book with British Airways so did some research and found this hotel. It seemed perfect - Adult only, had four restaurants and several bars including poolside bar. We checked in and did not get offered the welcome drink they clearly advertise - chalk that up to them just forgetting. We were driven to our room which was perfect for our needs - 2 bedrooms with a bathroom each. Next morning breakfast was a hearty offering and the staff could not do more for you. I thought we were on to a winner but this was short lived! A small child of around 3 was at the pool on enquiring as we had clearly booked adult only I was informed that they relax this in November - nowhere is this stated on any of the websites or the booking confirmation information which had adult only in capitals on it. To be frank the person on the phone was rude and unhelpful too which didn't help matters. Well we were here now so had to contend with the situation. We decided a trip of the hotel boat around the islands would be good so I again approached the team in guest services to book/pay where I was informed the boat was not running as it was closed for the season - this was clearly not true- we saw it depart for guests and it was later confirmed by another member of guest services that indeed the boat was running but this was too late for us ! We also had problems with drinks - no alcohol ingredients to make the cocktails on the menu and the excuse being that they were winding down for the season. This was also true of the other restaurants (and entertainment which and also ceased) in the complex with only one being open nightly - well we had paid to be here with a fully working resort not what we got! Would I come back to Rixos - NO! Not because of the problems we had but rather the way they were handled. I would not recommend this resort because of that however Erol, who looked after us in the cabana, was great - helpful and friendly. The breakfast staff too must be commended for their helpfulness. Unfortunately the rest has left a bad taste in my mouth from saying they don't off all inclusive in November when they clearly do (I get ask each day if I am all inclusive or BnB) to not handling issues the right way. Come on Rixos if you have a customer issue (or several) at least try to solve it for you customer while they are still on your resort! A little great customer service goes a long way.
Great place to relax
The hotel is split into blocks with the restaurants down towards the harbour. The Secret Beach is a 10 minute boat trip that runs complimentary every 15 minutes. The hotel is ultra all inclusive, and there is a bar, a restaurant and a snack grill at the secret beach The snorkeling was great. The sea in October is warmer than the pool. The pools have lovely beds and showers available at beach (and changing rooms), towels provided. The hotel has 2 pools, on salt, one fresh, a pool bar, the Nox evening bar, a buffet for breakfast and evening, the peoples bar open 24/7 inclusive. The grill and fish restaurant have additional cost. The staff are amazingly helpful and polite.it was cool of an evening and bar staff brought fleece blankets and there were wood burning braziers. The entertainment stage had live music from 22:00 sometimes earlier, one evening was a film. A great plus point of this place is no reps hassling you to play games, go on trips etc. There is a SPA, which we only used to freshen up before leaving but others said it was great. The food is great, mainly menu and serviced, as we are here during covid the buffet was all behind screens so you pointed and were served, lots of choice. The room is huge with a superfine bed and a sitting area, with a Mandarin tree in the patio. The grounds have lots of plants that are immaculate groomed, regularly maintained. So many great things to say about this hotel and will look to try other Rixos hotels, the sailing regatta was on whilst we were here - quite a spectacle, many multi millionaire yachts. What made this trio exceptional was the staff, Ibrahim, in the peoples bar was so lovely and encouraged us to try local food, which was delicious- he looked after us all week, including a piece of cake on my partners birthday with sparklers and a sing song
This hotel is a space bubble
I visited the hotel at the end of October,hopping that we will be able to take a bath in the sea.And I did so!The sea water was 24-25 degrees,the air 29.Both the pool and the beach very good,with bars and food nearby.Good quality of beverages and menu .Staff very good.Everything very clean.Great choice of places to eat. Bad points:at the Seafood restaurant we left after 75 min of waiting for the main course;the somelier recommended a sweet wine (for the fish !),even if I asked expressely a day one,now it is normal. At the check out the bill was with a greater rate for the last 4 days,even if for that period the rate on the hotel’s site was lower (but after a discussion with the reception manager this was solved).
